We are currently accepting submissions from artists across the globe that have either been affected by violence, or would like to commemorate a victim or survivor who has been affected by all forms of tyranny and oppression.

The deadline for application has been extended to May 1st 2010.

Benefits of Membership include, but are not limited to:
-Year round exposure
-Individual artist information on our website(s)
-Part of a National Memorial Community-Art Tour
-Member Discounts on Event Registrations
-A thriving social community of emerging and established arists, as well as support from other survivors.

There are two ways to participate:

1. “Faces Of Change – Lantern of Hope”
4 - 10’ x 6’ Glass Mural Mosaic’s

Be a part of the “Faces of Change” commemorating victims and survivors who have suffered from domestic violence. We are seeking 240 artists who will paint 1’ x 1’ sections of the mural mosaic. We will review your artwork and style for possible inclusion in our mural-mosaic. Each participating artist will be given a pre-primed ¼” plywood panel to paint in their style using certain colors and tones already provided.

We also kindly ask that each artist submit the story behind the paintings prior to returning the panel back to our studio. Stories and their appropriate panel number displayed on the back of each panel can be emailed back to us, and will be displayed on the website as they come available.

Kindly follow these guidelines:

1. Please review the murals shown on http://www.muralmosaic.com to familiarize with the technique used to create each of the murals.

2. Submit 3 images of your artwork or a link to your website to dvsupport@live.com. Attachments should be in a JPG format and not exceed 1.5 MB total, any images exceeding 1.5 MB may not be reviewed.

3. Due to the volume of requests we receive, we sincerely regret that we are unable to reply to all submissions. If your work appears both appropriate and timely for us to consider, we will contact you for the next step. We DO review each submission.

2. “Quilt of Hope” Quilts to commemorate survivors of domestic violence

Any persons who is dealing with, or going thru or is a survivor of any type of domestic abuse is encouraged to send a block of whatever fabric they want 8” x8” to represent their personal experience with abuse. Will be strictly confidential and unless anyone wants to add anything personal each block will represent each nameless victim/survivor.

They will be used in putting together quilts that show the large numbers of people affected by DV and give hope to those suffering as we speak. It will be a part of a Moving Memorial sent to as many places around the country as possible.

Those interested in participating are strongly encouraged to join the “Quilt of Hope” Group and email the project founder Katie expressing your interest in the project.

“I would just like to see how many out there would be willing to send a block for the quilt and go from there. Please join me in this as this could give so many others a vision of hope and sense of comfort in knowing they are not alone. Also as it goes from place to place it will bring to the public just how many are affected and in need of help and support. Thank you.” - Katie
