I wrote this poem a year after my step daughter was killed in the London Bombings of 2005.

No Room for Hate.

There is no room within my heart
for revenge, fire or hate
there is no room within my mind
for any thoughts like these.

I cannot find the words to say
just how it is I feel
but I know from deepest hurt
I must forgiveness find.

The hurt that’s been done to us
cuts sore like a knife,
but we must not, repay in kind
what has been done to us.

Instead we must try and find
the way that is so hard,
and reach out our loving hands
to find some friendship now.

There can be no more healing thing
than opening wide our eyes
and seeing that most other folk
are really just like us.

The Heart

Boundless ripples,
Unending rhythmic beat,
per second, per kalpa,
per life, per soul,
flowing and ebbing,
a mandala, whole.

Seedless Spirit,
Expansive bloom
in light, in color,
in sound, in shapes,
wilting, contracting
to dimensional fates.

Before and Beyond
where Peace is pursued,
the rippling seed
in each heart, imbued.

as reply to davids eloquent poetry
your wounds have healed
savage shame no longer binds

the eternal flame of love still burns
deep within the stillness of your mind
as i entered the halls of forgiveness
i saw blind angels crucified in light
taking on mans pain of years
fighting lying demons in the night
the angel most blind & lame took my hand
led me to gods throne
as i wept the tears of the forgiven
he forced my eyes to look upon
thebrink of the apocalypse
where evil waged war upon good
& mankind damned thru centuries of lust & hate
cried out to be understood
i turned my face away in shame
the last door he opened for me to see
marked with the blood of the damned
where blazing light ripped opene the angels hearts
singing one last song of hope for every woman & man
and from the blind angles lips
who had taken my hand
was the secret of all secrets
and the last of gods commands

reborn by the forces of eternity
all children of the same mother
guided by the holy ones
humanities star will rise again
when the sign made in the beginning
will be the same sign made in the end

dedicated to the conscious enlightenment of all of humanity

Found this on another thread but it should be here too I think.

"We are one global family
All colors, All races
One world united.
We dance for peace and the healing of our planet Earth
Peace for all nations.
Peace for our communities.
And peace within ourselves.
As we join all dance floors across the world,
let us connect heart to heart.
Through our diversity we recognize Unity.
Through our compassion we recognize Peace.
Our love is the power to transform our world
Let us send it out
NOW..."

there is no answer
but loving one another,
even our enemies, and this is hard.

But remember:
when a man of war becomes a man of peace,
he gives a light, divine

though it is also human.
When a man of peace is killed
by a man of war, he gives a light.

You do not have to walk in darkness.
If you will have the courage for love,
you may walk in light. It will be

the light of those who have suffered
for peace. It will be
your light.

saw the note on a discussion in the forum. Glad to be here.

Peace Is

We’ve had it all wrong,
this, among so many things
we thought we knew
we thought we understood.
Wrong again.

Peace is not
the absence of war
the absence of conflict
the absence of struggle.
Not peace as the world knows peace.

Peace is not
what happens
when there’s nothing
happening.
Peace is not
the end product of
having all your work done,
of having all you need,
of having all the defenses built
and fortified against ensuing pain.

Peace isn’t found
by force
by coercion
by political “persuasion”
of favors or threats
or having the bigger stick.

Peace is.

Peace is
a power in its own right.

Peace is
open energy,
lovingly applied.
Peace is
courageous Life
seeing Life,
knowing Life
respecting Life
in self as well as other.

Peace is
strength of character,
not outward shows
of might or
numbers on some exit poll.

Peace is
character, internal essence,
found within, developed,
shaped and honed
by circumstance.

Peace is
synchronicity
of timing, rhythm, tone
with those Higher Ideals
of God and man.
Peace is
knowing, trusting, showing
that these Ideals bring forth
their own reward.

Peace is
established first in heart and soul,
given expression through
Life and Love in action.

My peace I give to you,
already given, already seeded
waiting only to see the light of day
in mind
in truth
in being.

Peace is.

A song bursts forth in all it's glory the sun has risen and how, the mighty oaks' leaves stretch their branches to the sky for the taste, feel, touch of the bright burning light. All around buildings crumble, bodies lay crumpled in a heap, bombs explode, children cry and their parents hang their weary heads. Religion this week, land the next. No end in sight for the cruelty inflicted by some others with no conscience. Hold your heads up all my people hold your heads up dance and pray for some unknown reason the sun is shining today. Let it lift your hearts and souls, let it mend the bitter tears another day is beginning and it sends the message clear. Don't give up yet young ones there is still some time to heal the broken and the twisted the rest all will be revealed in good time when you are ready to hear the message clear. But for today for all my people the sun will shine for you.

greetings from batsheva to iPeace!

this is the english version
translated from Hebrew

to iPeace !
a song by the Bnei Baruch Band:

THE LAST GENERATION

So we thought we would succeed if we would think a lot,
So the philosophers sat down and calculated:
If we strain our mind, we might find a solution.
All this may be true - but it led to nowhere.

So we thought we would succeed if we explored a lot,
So the scientists sat down immediately and began to count:
If we find the formula we might prevent disaster.
All this is certainly true – but they also developed the atom bomb.

It may be right under our nose,
Waiting for us to tilt the scale.
It is already here, it is the right time,
For the last generation,
(The last generation, the last generation)

We thought we would succeed if we stopped breathing,
If we fly to the Himalayas to be with the Hindus,
They sit there and meditate all day long,
They are still alive - but have long gone to sleep.

We also thought we would succeed if there were equality,
So the communists said: let’s split up the riches,
Let’s forget about the ego and live the good life,
And what happened to us? It is even worse than Sodom.

It may be right under our nose,
Waiting for us to tilt the scale.
It is already here, it is the right time,
For the last generation,

We also thought we would succeed if there were tranquility,
So the mysticists sat down and thought of a solution:
Let’s close our eyes tight and try to relax,
It was very nice – but nothing happened.
(Nothing happened, nothing happened)

So we said it might be better to just forget everything.
Yes, to take some pill, it will make us feel good.
We can just escape to our imagination.
It may true - but in the end it certainly won’t help.
(Certainly won’t help, certainly won’t help)

It may be right under our nose,
Waiting for us to tilt the scale.
It is already here, it is the right time,
For the last generation,
The last generation,
The last generation.

Be The Change

Dear Mr Gandhi, did you really say
that we have to become the change
that we want within the world?

Dear Mr Gandhi, your saying is so hard.
Can I really do it, this monumental thing:
and change the entire world?

Dear Mr Gandhi, what is it you ask;
for me to leave my comfort behind
and walk the dry dusty roads?

Dear Mr Gandhi, do you really mean,
my insignificant voice can be heard
and force the world to change?

Dear Mr Gandhi, I wish I had courage,
for then this task that lies ahead,
wouldn’t frighten me so.

Then Dear Mr Gandhi turned and smiled,
“Is this little task so hard…
You won’t be alone.”
