Hi, Robby!
I am NOT an entrepreneur, most of what I try to organise falls flat on its face. But I have this dream of concerts to draw attention to The World March For Peace And Justice. If you look at their official web-site, you will see that it's not only a march. It's a whole spectrum of activities for Peace deciding to call itself a World March (an umbrella organisation). If that umbrella is big enough (i.e. if there are enough activities going on all over the World [and they've ALREADY started]), the Media will not be ABLE to ignore The March... and Peace will hit the headlines.

I, too, have no money, nor any formal training as a clown. But I will be organising a "circus" (which is MEANT to fall flat on its face [all the acts are really shams, so that in fact we are all clowns PRETENDING to be strongmen and slug-tamers, etc. etc.]) I have the great fortune to have contacts in Spain, so that I can plan to coincide with the official group of marchers when they arrive in Barcelona - and even dream of the possibility of presenting this spoof circus to them... should give them a laugh.
The Marchers will set off from new Zealand on the 2nd of October (Gandhi's birthday) and Australia will be their next stop on the way to Argentina (2nd Jan., 2010).
But even if The March comes nowhere near you, by saying that your act for Peace is part of The March, it DOES become part of The March.
If you would like to help, I suggest that you get in touch with other local musicians and organise a concert - or, better, a series of them. Download the March logo from their web-site (go to "documents"), make it up into a banner / backdrop, TELL the web-site what you are doing (so they can announce it there), TELL the local Press, radio, television. Give interviews... and TALK, TALK, TALK! About The March... but ALSO about Peace.
Also, make a video of your performance, and post it on YouTube (under the umbrella of The March). Here is my favourite activity so far (from Ireland, a country not on the official route): Living Peace Sign for the World March for Peace and Non-Violence, March May 4th 2009 Kilkenny

It's time that we refused to leave ideals as important as Peace and NonViolence in the hands of POLITICIANS!

I think that it's important that we clear up 3 possible misunderstandings about The World March for Peace and NonViolence, for people who are not already acquainted with it:
a) It is not just about a march from one place to another - even a march as global as this will be, taking in 100 countries on every continent except Antarctica. Any activity for Peace that anyone chooses to organise and call part of The March IS part of The March. The beauty of this idea is that all together, this should become the largest manifestation of public opinion the World has ever seen... and make it impossible for the Media to ignore the topic of Peace.
b) Although the actual March sets off from New Zealand on the 2nd of October (Gandhi's birthday), The March has already begun! People have already been organising demonstrations, activities, concerts, happenings, press conferences... And it doesn't matter WHERE: Anywhere you are in the World - even if the actual March doesn't come to your country - you can become part of The March. Here is one of my favourite actions (so far) - in Ireland, a country the official marchers won't be reaching:
c) The March isn't just about some huge idea like "World Peace". That might put some people off. ("What can WE do about Peace? That's something for the governments of the World to take care of...") It's about Peace and NonViolence on all levels: domestic violence, abuse of children, sexism, violence in our schools and on our streets, interpersonal relationships...

A global hug to all who wish for and work for Peace!
