I heard recently that Cheetah's may have been domesticated and used by hunters in Africa...in a time long ago I would assume.

Cheetah or Leopard is not the issue here, it's what you see in this picture. The cat is the dominating animal here while the boy finds protection at its side. This is an unusual situation, unnatural I may say but in our world every thing is possible, even a friendship like this.
By the way, it's cheetah. Amazing photo.
