More: A consciousness of fear creates separation, the belief that each person or group must defend what they have. As a result, intentions change. Listening, understanding, compromise give way to protecting, thwarting, attacking. Many speak of peace but their actions and intentions demonstrate otherwise. When motivated by genuine intention for change, by a higher vision that encompasses the whole and works for its betterment, then peace cannot help but flourish. It becomes both a consequence and the creative driving force.

More about me: I (Mony) am a Canadian-born Lebanese woman. I left a career in the software industry in 2000, and embarked on a search for self. My travels led me to many places, and ultimately to the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage route in northern Spain. There, at the end of my 800-km walk, I met Alberto, a Spanish man who had similary left a career in insurance to pursue his art and a more spiritually-fulfilling life.

Our shared belief that peace begins within inspired us to embark on a 5000-km, 13-country walk for peace to Jerusalem. It was a journey of self-discovery and healing, and one that continues to this day.
