When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?: I feel the pain in the world

More: All of the obstacles are so interconnected and it is hard to tell which comes first. Having said that, it seems that economic disparities help to create poverty, fear, greed, prejudice and hate. I'm not sure all that would dissipate if wealth were spread more evenly across the planet and amongst the people everywhere, I but I think it would have a dramatic effect.

More about me: I'm an elementary school teacher who decided about three years ago, after hearing Stephen Lewis speak, that I needed to do more to be teaching for peace, social justice and human rights across the curriculum. I left my job as coordinator of a rather prestigious program for highly gifted students to return to the classroom. Since then I have been seconded to SFU where I facilitate graduate programs for teachers as they learn to teach with technology (TLITE) and/or for global perspectives (Teaching and Learning for Global Perspectives).
