I teach German at the Calcutta University. Also a literary translator and translated among others Guenter Grass, Thomas Mann, Feuchtwanger, Winternitz. Was a Visiting Lecturer at the Univ. of Vienna, Charles Univ. Prague, Fellow of the Austrian Society for Literature, Uebersetzer Kollegium in Straelen, Germany.

I can't tell where exactly, but Benaras is definitely one of the name I have heard of occasionally. I can find up  for you if it is important.  My niece has come back just a few month ago after being at an Ashram for Yoga lessons, to complete her training. Now she teaches Yoga in Israel.

Thank you very much to fill me up some more knowledge about Hinduism.

That is very interesting. You probably also know  that many Israelis are going to India,not only for travelling but also to study there Buddhism and  Yoga.

Some of them argue that they find Hinduism very alike Judaism in certain aspects.

Au weia, ein Deutschlehrer, da muss ich aufpassen damit ich keine Fehler mache :-). Aber zum Glück kann ich meine Frau fragen im Notfall, die unterrichtet 1. und 2. Klasse in der Grundschule.

Grass und Thomas Mann sind nicht unbedingt meine Gebiete. Habe zu lange leichte Literatur gelesen, aber davon 25 - 30 Jahre nur Englisch, das hat mir jedenfalls geholfen Englisch zu lernen.

Ich bin jetzt mehr auf dem spirituellen Sektor tätig, lese manchmal noch Channelings usw. Muss auf dem Laufenden bleiben, was in der Welt vor sich geht bis 2012 und darüber hinaus.

Natürlich können wir mal skypen, kein Problem. ein Glück wenigstens in Deutsch, hatte ein paar mal das Vergnügen mit einem Australischen Engländer, der ohne Gebiss sprach, zu skypen, das war ein Vergnügen LOL

Das mit dem Sanskrit ist sehr interessant, unser Kriya Yoga Lehrer hat uns einige Mantras in Sanskrit lesen lassen. Kannst Du die Baghavad Gita in Sanskrit lesen ?

Wünsche Dir noch eine schöne Zeit. Weiß nicht, feiert ihr Weihnachten ? Kenn mich mit den Indischen Gebräuchen leider nicht so aus.
