since the beginning of time, and I am speaking of what has been found by archaeologists as the first written histories not histories according to book religions (although those are about greed and power too if you read between the lines), "rulers" or kings or whoever was in high power wanted more power and took it, or rather "expanded" their empires, legacies, etc. You see this in Egyptology, you see this in Greek and Roman histories, you can see this trend in Europe and even our own American - United States - histories. If we see it and want it, we take it. Some cultures hide behind religion (what a joke) to conquer "savages", few cultures are honest about their greed (I would say the Vikings were quite honest about what they wanted and didn't hide it), and others are sneaky -- although I think that goes well with the hiding behind religion.

This is how I feel about it and what I see in the news every day. Of course, I had to stop watching the news because it just upsets me, angers me, frustrates me to no end. Being an empathic person, it is hard to not feel what others feel.

Can we change the world?

I'm a single mom of 4 great kids! I am also a full time student, getting my degree in software development. I have my own small business called Gypsy Rose Treasures, in which I sell my hand crafted items such as soy candles, drawstring bags, lotion bars, tea blends, and other goodies, as well as many other kinds of treasures and trinkets that I feel are fun, whimsical, fantastic, important, and useful. I am a proud Pagan, who believes in "reduce, reuse, recycle", who believes that using as much organic, wild harvested and free trade products as possible in all my hand crafted products (as well as household and personal items), who is trying to make a difference, even if only in my own neighborhood. We all have to start somewhere, right? :)
