When it comes to peace, how would you describe yourself?
I feel the pain in the world
What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?
War, Hunger, Poverty, Human Rights
So what is it?
The Possible Good World will not come unless we assist at its "birth" by transforming outdated institutions
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Economic disparities
More
Economics is the science of how we survive in the physical world. If it is driven, as it is, by faulty and outdated theories and assumptions, the resulting economic system will be faulty and destructive of possible harmony among people, and between other species and ours and the planet itself.
Can we change the world?
Not really
More about me
I am in love with the Possible Good World (PGW) and want to recruite membership to a Good World Movement.

The Possible Good World (PGW) is a world with No wars; No poverty; No oppression; No exploitation, No avoidable suffering.
Promise to respect others and refrain from spamming?
Yes

From how many countries? There seems to be no statistics on that---at least I can not find it.

It would be important to know how many governments could be sent the message, Not In Our Name, from this community.

[Our actions to heal the world] are not broad mandates to eradicate poverty, end famine, or stop violence in war-torn countries... They are specific projects created to restore Hope in the lives of children and communities that have lost it. Spiritual Activism is active Compassion... from these Seeds, Change will grow.

This is the problem with spiritual activism. It seems to be restricted to practicing charitable acts in the name of compassion. "restoring hope" of… Continue

Wall of silence is protecting the status quo

"I thought these books might be a good point of discussion for Peace Studies programs in Universities. but I got almost no response... sent them to many different peace organizations... the same response---nothing. Tolstoy speaks of the wall of silence to teaching simply that Jesus taught loving your enemies and one should not participate in war."

The "wall of silence" syndrome indicates a serious systemic obstacle to change. Even people who should know better are prone to it.… Continue

My nation-tribe, right or wrong

Posted on November 9, 2009 at 10:30pm 1 Comment

Author George Williston brings to consciousness, in the first part of his book, This Tribe Of Mine, the ancestral "sins" of the Anglo Saxon ethnic group that is the core of British/American cultural inheritance.

The second part is the "good news" message about overcoming a historical "ethnocentricity" that prevented these nations from respecting as equals less aggressive and materialistic ethnic groupings.

Although American and English people profess to be Christian, in… Continue

Waking up to discipleship

Posted on November 9, 2009 at 10:24pm 0 Comments

Wise teachers occasionally warn spiritual aspirants about judging their development: those who reckon themselves to be well advanced spiritually, are often at the very beginning of the path of discipleship.

...There is the emergence of a new kingdom in nature, the fifth kingdom; this is the Kingdom of God on earth or the kingdom of souls. It is precipitating on earth and will be composed of those who are becoming group-conscious and who can work in group formation. This will be… Continue

Dear Inger,
Thank you for your comment. I do see that we are not really in disagreement.
Being rightly engaged in the world does mean that we have to be mindful of the need to sort out our inner life.
Since in reality there is no separation between inner and other reality personal progress is like walking on two legs. Inner change is expressed in wiser outer action requiring, in due course or concurrently, further work on oneself to prepare for more effective interaction with the "all there is".

The bottom line is that big changes are needed in the way social institutions (parts of the "all there is") like education, economics, governance, science, etc., function.

I note with interest that you receive inner guidance from spiritual entities in other dimensions. I have red a lot about the masters and believe in their existence but have never had the feeling of being approached by them.

Dear Janos, You gave me a nice chuckle with your message, thank you, I do enjoy laughter, and happiness. The people in "We The People" don't really care for my thinking very much! However I am friends with many of them! Isn't it odd how people will band together under a label, just so they can feel safe? Oh well that's another thread I guess. I have enjoyed our conversation and deeply appreciate those who will stick with a conversation long enough to gain understanding of another fellow man. So you gained big points on the "Tina chart" this evening. Go You!!! LoL, have a good week hope that you are richly blessed, Tina

Oh That response, Whatever would I not print that, It is your thought's and opinion Janos. People expressing is a positive in my world. It is when people do not express that tensions build. I do not expose mean or hateful posts, because it does not promote thinking or solution, comfort or relief, so those type, yes I would delete, but thinking, caring, striving for a better world has my vote, whether I agree with the idea or not! At least someone is participating, Yes? Blessings, I think you and I could have some very interesting conversations, I have been reading more of your postings! Smiling here! Tina
