Melitta Alami was born in Dortmund/Germany in 1952.
Later on she opened an office for graphic design. 1991 she moved to Brussels for to study textile restoration, worked as secretary, translator, restorer and writer.
Since 1998 she realizes collagen from all sorts of vegetable components of most different trees, the leaves, barks and fruits.
So the production of papyrus developed.
She uses vegetable materials like salad, beets, leek and much more. She is using the old Egyptians method of papyrus production.
By a horizontal and vertical overlapping of the materials and with the help of her knowledge as textile restoration she gets the colours and typical features of the respective plants. She attaches great importance to the preservation of the characteristic parts in her recognizable form and its transparency.

The Healthcare Fallen Memorial
We watch our loved ones die because the healthcare system in our country has abandoned them.
The Healthcare Fallen Memorial is a place to keep them alive in our memory when all else has failed.
Here you can post pictures, videos and stories of your family, friends and neighbors who have died on our own soil because they could not get healthcare.
We will never forget their struggle to live.
