Dear Mohamad,

As an American I have been blessed and cursed to be one of a minority who have truly gained a clear picuture of how things are and have been in Israel and Plaestine. However, this is only happening now, after years of watching world news and hearing reports.. It is only now after speaking with enough Palestinians and Israelis that I understand the horror and degradation, physical and spiritual, that has taken place and continues.

A very dear and somewhat new friend of mine is an Arab Israeli, he has had a difficult time and his family history echos with the history of so many Arab Israelis and Palestinians. Lands taken, reduced to less than poverty, friend and family coming under attack, arrested and beaten.

The worst of it to me is the ignorance or disregard the world has shown for the actually facts. There are so many Israeli mistakes which directly force palestinians and other groups within Israel and Palestine to live worse than if they were in a prison.

The Israelis have sought to systematically break the Palestinians and all arab israelis down to the point that they will never recover. They have taken and continue to take the best land, literally deficating on the Palestinians/Arabs below them. They have taken the sources of clean water for themselves even on lands which are not theirs. They have acted as the preditor and the world has ignored it or been keep from attending to it.

There are days now when I find it hard to eat, hard to feel settled in my heart because of all the ways people are building a stairway of bodies to get wherever they want to go. Israels' treatment of Palestinians and Arabs is our prime ongoing example of something that goes on to varying degrees around the world.

Please forgive us blind americans, our media is filtered and our opinions are given to us. Our policies made for us and our freedom defined for us. We too are a captive people, even as the world is captive to the ring bearers.

WE must support solutions and one another, practically and spiritually!

Thank you for sharing yourself here and with so many in your life. I my opinion there is nothing more important in life thatn caring for and sharing with others. We are all one. If we can only truly know that and live that! So mote it be!
