What do you believe are the 'burning issues' today?: War, Hunger, Poverty, Education, Our Planet, Violence, Inflation, Human Rights, Our Shrinking Freedom

What must we overcome to achieve peace?: Fear

More: I believe that if we all faced our fears of our own " differentness"and our fears of other's differences and made a choice to embrace and celebrate our own individual uniqueness on this planet and everyone else's, and at the same time chose to honor our fragile and yet powerful interconnectedness with each other and all of life, peace would be possible and harmony would prevail. Our insecurities would melt away and we would dwell in peace, inside our own hearts and in our world.

Can we change the world?: Definitely

More about me: I own a drum shop in Austin, Texas that specializes in World Percussion and I teach hand drumming! I believe that group drumming and learning the music of other cultures promotes world peace as it helps us learn ways to connect to each other non-verbally that are powerful, deep and joyous. A pathway to our common ground and our Universal language.

a red dress.
Many are content with
white shirts, plaid skirts, blue jeans.
The wounded are wearing
overcoats,
because for them

the reminder of black,
although pain is everywhere
and loss attends us.
Those who are painted in blood
have wept in the wasting of war.

painted with light
are here to heal us.

Friend,
even if I came to you
in the rags of weariness,
the cloak of invisibility or
dust of neglect, the
web of a spider,
would you offer me a drink of water
seeing thirst,
and help to decide
a way, at the crossroads of life?
If I look into your
