War, Hunger, Poverty, Human Rights, Other
So what is it?
The human and environmental exploitation by the West has created a vast disparity, causing many problems, which affect women and children the most. The runaway pursuit of profit has caused the degredation of humanity, our planet.....
What must we overcome to achieve peace?
Greed
More
the quest for wealth and power has created an environment lacking in humanity, reason, or integrity, creating a vast disparity between the very rich and the very poor; 2.8 b. people live on less than $2 per day. Many of these people are women supporting children. 27000 children die everyday from poverty related diseases. We have allowed a global cultlure of greed, violence and poverty to grow into a worldwide catastrophe for billions of people.
Can we change the world?
Definitely
More about me
I am the Director and Founder of Women's Global Empowerment Fund, a microfinance non-profit organization working in post conflict northern Uganda. We offer microcredit loans and educational programs to women so that they may create a sustainable, brighter future for themselves and their families. Founded in 2007 we have served over 750 women, have a 100% repayment rate, serve 97 women in our literacy program.
I am a recent graduate of University of Colorado, where I received a Master's Degree, studying gender and development. I feel inspired by the women we serve and am thrilled to be a social entrepreneur.
