iPeace - the whole world right here, the possibility to say what you want 24 hours a day, say how you feel, and find out about every country in the world and the thoughts of the people in each one. Incredible. Amazing. We are just plain LUCKY! Do we realize just how special this iPeace is? And....are we taking advantage of this opportunity to the best we can? For our good and for the good of the world? Are we missing doing something that could be of greater importance while we are here…

There comes a time in every life
When it is time to set aside the strife,
Put up the hammer, put down the bow
And let spirit show us where to go.
There is a time in every life
To let love be our guide
Show no fear, face the foe, do not hide.
Hide from the journey before our eyes,
For the foe is fear, fear of surprise.
Fear that something soon will change.
And knowing naught, it seems so strange
That life may be but a moment of…

"Sincerity and truth are the basis of every virtue."
~ Confucius
It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life, that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
In order to arrive at an ideal solution in a challenging situation, it is important for us to be receptive to the truth. A sincere attitude flows naturally when we are available to… Continue

Happy Season for Nonviolence, family! In my effort to help "be the change," I am committing to keeping a daily blog on iPeace as well as my own website, www.janis-kelly.com during this powerful 9-week period. I will also be posting music, videos and lyrics to my original music as well as some of my favorites from within the peace movement (thank you, John Lennon, for showing me how to be a voice for peace...) and I hope you will find great value in them. Here, then, is my first entry, drawn…

ONE WORLD SOON
One hope I have for my children
No hunger or fear in their lives
Every parent wants this, so that is no surprise
When will the world meet in honesty
Openly plan an end to all poverty
Remove the crowns from the commerce kings
Let morality stand proud within all our tradings
Don't let it take too long my friends
Seek friendship and sincerity…

Want you come and try to
catch the sun-wind---
Like the old Ones did,
let it blow your inside out,
let it blow the easy way,
till the Day is here----
Want you try and catch
the sun-wind, it blowes
inside your mind------
sweeping gently all over,
cruisin in space,
empowering your soul---
Feel it blow--------
the magic sun-wind---
It will change the world,
feel it blow and go for the
magic of…

My prayers go to Obama.
I have not seen TV in around 1.5 years.
I "feel" Burma, China, Tibet, Gaza, Israel, Italy, Africa, South America...
Just as I FEEL Bush still with his fingers in places they should not be.
What I FEEL is Bush wanting to ensure Armageddon and intentionally did what he did before he left office to DISTRACT Obama with smaller items (though quite large) than the main ones he wanted hidden.
Asked to sign petitions to send to Obama I did…

While I was cleaning I came upon some old poems that may need reworking. Here is one for example...I did make a few changes. It was originally entitled Sky Spirit in Ivory I was inspired by an orchard in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and a time in my life when I was looking towards freedom:
In my bones
marrow shrivels into
grains.
I open the window
breathe in the sky
the sunset dance and all its turnings.
The trees of the apple…

I had posted this as a response to Saggi_tario, but I include here because I think it's worth sharing with everyone:
As President Obama undertakes the journey of his Presidency, I would like to share my thoughts on the changing spiritual road that humanity is now beginning to embark upon. This path reflects a new understanding that we are gaining towards religion. In fact, I think that the term "religion" is becoming obsolete because it reflects a narrow view of the bigger…

I feel the time has come to speak out. A few years ago my cousin's daughter wrote a book about cousins of ours who lived and hid in italy throughout the war. Reflecting on all that had happened and its impact, the elderly mother of the family said that one thing we had lost was our sense of morality, some kind of capacity to speak out when things are not fair, to admit wrongs-especially our own- and to work to change them. That no matter what has happened to us some moral capacity must be part…

The Children
I can hear them cry out
another nightmare
come daylight becomes
another reality.
I can see them bleeding
limbless and pleading
in a universal language...
freedom from war
should be theirs,
the children.
I can feel them trembling
as they wet their beds
crying out in pain for
rescue from war
and food for their stomachs.
I can…

A great man sowed seeds of peace
Next door to a dream
Nurtured them with prayers and blood
Great men die as all men do
But great dreams live on.

I would like to say thank you to all the wonderful people and friends I have through iPeace. Whenever I am feeling down or have had an especially tough day, signing into iPeace gives me such a joyful boost. It forces me to feel love and kindness when I feel deprived. It is a constant reminder that there are wonderful, beautiful, loving people all around the world- and that is the most important thing I need to keep in mind. Knowing that makes me feel peaceful and warm =). Thank you, friends.
