A Message of Peace Kahu Fred Sterling Senior Minister, Honolulu Church of Light

A Message of Peace

Kahu Fred Sterling

Senior Minister, Honolulu Church of Light

May peace be with all who come into this world. That is a statement I would like to elevate to a creed that we should all live by as we ready ourselves for this journey.

Many who choose peace as their primary mode of being come to understand that they must practice peace each day so that it becomes exponentially a part of their… Continue

Just found out I have cancer

I was diagnosed 7/29 the news blew me away. I had been following Farrah Fawcett's story and was very intriqued

because of the similarities. But I thought I just had a hemorroid so I had to have a biopsy it came back cancer.

Everything began to spin out of control for me and my old behaviours kicked in, smoking and drinking to excess

now I realize that's not my option today it took cancer to bring me to my knees.I must now change everything I thought was fun because that kind of… Continue

New England Paper Highlights Aziz Sarah’s Work as a Peacemaker

Published by malloryh under Israel, Palestine, Palestinians, citizen diplomacy, narrative, peace process

By Mallory Huggins

A few weeks ago, The Jewish Voice & Herald (which serves New England and Southeastern Massachusetts) spolighted our own Aziz Abu Sarah’s work as an activist in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The article, titled “Palestinian activist: From angry young man to a proponent of peace,” discusses Aziz’s very personal connection to the conflict and how he… Continue

Have Faith

Have Faith

Why be afraid of anything? I AM with you always. I go before you to prepare the way and it will unfold in true perfection at the right time. When you are in rhythm with all life, nothing is out of timing and everything falls into its rightful place. You must have faith and your faith must be strong and rocklike to be able to live this life. Your faith grows stronger when it is put into practice. Faith is not something to be… Continue

Heal Starting NOW Via Trusting Your DNA!

Heal Starting NOW Via Trusting Your DNA!

By Raven Cohan

An article I read during the winter of '09 in a Yahoo Group that was about strategies for the 'Sick Season' told me that 'We are all human'. It basically had positive moments, but it tended to go toward a feeling that humans are trapped in dealing with germs as if they were muggers lurking around every corner. I propose to share with you my truth: Rarely do I get sick! Once in a great while, (about 7 to 10 years), I can get a… Continue

I propose to share with you my truth: Rarely do I get sick! Once in a great while, (about 7 to 10 years), I can get a flue that lingers for a week or two. Therefore I… Continue

meditation on patience

Please put your attention on the breath for a few moments.

Find patience and acceptance in your heart for your own difficulties, your own mistakes, …for all the things that you think about yourself which you might not like. Find the acceptance and the patience to endure that in your heart. Let the patience and acceptance grow so that they fill you from head to toe, a feeling of ease. And with that love arises and you can surround yourself and embrace yourself with… Continue

quest

on a quest

to learn,
and to unlearn

to find
resonating truths

in
weaving together
spiritual traditions
and putting the ideas
to practical use,

to share and to learn

on a Gnostic's quest
on a Buddhist's quest

and yet no labels fit,
open minded
yet not to blind faiths
seeking to
hold What Is in my hand
and become an
aeon of eternity

Frederick Douglass - Hypocrisy Of American Slavery

Frederick Douglass - July 4, 1852

Fellow citizens, pardon me, and allow me to ask, why am I called upon to speak here today? What have I or those I represent to do with your national independence? Are the great principles of political freedom and of natural justice, embodied in that Declaration of Independence, extended to us? And am I, therefore, called upon to bring our humble offering to the national altar, and to confess the benefits,… Continue

KEEP YOUR FORK... THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things "in order," she contacted her pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.

Everything was in…
