Ceasefire in Gaza is on – Now we need your charity

Indeed, a ceasefire in Gaza is now in place, but the long process of healing wounds and re-starting normal life just begins.

iPeace is focusing on rushing aid to the children of Gaza. For that we opened a cause in facebook and a special action group in iPeace.

This is a test for our community. We can make a real difference. But will we?

We are 2200 people in 'Aid the Gaza Children' cause in facebook.
We raised $2600 for the children
Only 31 people gave something.

Does this make sense to you?

ACT TODAY:
Give as little as 10$ HERE

We are over 15,000 members in iPeace.
Only 350 joined our 'Aid to the Gaza Children' group.

Does this make sense to you?

Imho UPA does not have proper info on their site - besides basic PR.
it is a political organization, and as such i would not trust it to pass the money to the right hands. especially since no transparent and traceable info are available on the site.
it could be nice if ipeace could form its own route of passing our donations directly to the children who need it - or though an international unbiased organization, that supports humans, not states.

Peace!

Eventhough I would like to be more involved in stopping the slaughter in Gaza, COSTA RICA, the country where I live, had on January 8th an earthquake. There are many persons without home, without land, without hope. I am trying to get donations ( clothes, goods, etc) to take to some families that lost everything. I must help the needy that are nearer to me first.

Latina America has found a way to go through directly to Palestine.
First: Palestinian government takes no money. Only volunteers, the white casks, medicines, food, clothing, water, lots of water is needed, and mostly doctors and tents to make field hospitals.
Get in touch with your country's Palestinian Ambassador, and use some of your organizations to stock everything. Palestina has made a way to their people, ships and planes are leaving our country with tons and tons of all they require.
And most of all, don't you ever get into facebook, or Hi 5 or any of those places, they sell all the informations about you. We have had many crimes in our country and through all Latin America, mostly Mexico. This is the time when people are most endangered, because during wars, all the delinquents take advantage and ask for things in the name of children and wounded of all countries of the world.
This is of main importance. We are sending loaded ships and planes to Palestina thanks to the Palestinian government in each country. You don't have to use people from outside to do this. From your hands into theirs.
Odila.
PALESTINA DOESN'T NEED MONEY NOW, IT WILL NEED IT TO REBUILD, BUT NOW IT NEEDS PEOPLE TO VOLUNTEER, MEDICINES, FOOD, TENTS, DOCTORS, NURSES, WATER, ASK THEIR EMBASSIES, ONLY GO TO THEIR EMBASSIES, DON'T TALK TO ANYBODY ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the comment

Samer Badawi, UPA executive director (and iPeace member): has left in the Aid to Gaza Children group:
I want to thank iPeace and all of you for this inspiring effort to help the children of Gaza. Please accept my apologies for not writing sooner, but I want to confirm now that UPA will commit 100 percent of the money raised here to directly support the children of Gaza. We are working each day with our partners on the ground to assess how best to direct this support, but I pledge that every project we fund, including those made possible by your generosity, will be straightforward and impact-driven.

For examples of our funding approach, especially during this crisis, kindly take a moment to visit helpUPA.com. From direct food assistance to address the acute nutritional deficiencies in children's diets, to shelter and trauma counseling for the tens of thousands of displaced children from northern Gaza, we are already able to help and, with your support, look forward to doing much more.

Please check our website for regular updates and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email me at samer@helpUPA.com. I will respond as quickly as possible but ask your patience in advance as we continue to focus our efforts on the humanitarian response in Gaza.

My best to each of you.

In peace and with hope,

Samer Badawi

The fundamental question I would like answered, as a new member of iPeace is: what are the tools this site uses to get closer to peace? When political instigation begins, does iPeace stop it or is dialogue at any level encouraged regardless of its irrationality? How is consensus determined, example, if I wanted to launch a fund to help the children of Sderot, is that fine (the level of PTS is high)? This site is beautiful, however requires parameters, as the pursuit of peace has become more of a science than an art. Our world is vastly complex with the internet, e-mail and interactive sites such as this. I applaud this effort whole heartedly and raise these questions to encourage its growth. The ongoing pursuit of peace is much different than in the days of the march on Selma. Shalom!!!

Thank you Zali - I asked Samer Badawi, Exucutive Director at UPA to state in the groups page his guarantee that ALL what he receives from us will be spent for the children of Gaza. He will do it later on today.

We are giving a lot in the UAE (though I am sure it is only a drop in a bucket) and collection tents are being set up at the grocery stores and volunteers are also asking for donations at the malls. It is a start and I hope that the Red Crescent will be able to help those who need it most. I am so glad to see that people from countries farther away are also galvanizing to give their support.
Note to Prince: God the creator is the God of Israel and the God of all who believe in Him. That includes the Christians and the Muslims. He created every human and He answers the cry of every human who calls out for His help. Open your eyes and your heart to this reality. (He said I am the God of Israel because at the time only the Children of Israel (Jacob's nickname) were worshiping Him).
