Dear Everyone
Christmas was terrific despite not getting as many presents as I'd hoped, and some changes in plans that were last minute. For an alcoholic that's hard to deal with (being out of control). I didn't drink though. I enjoyed spending time with my brother, his wife and my 3 year old niece. They were visiting from Irvine CA.
We had Christmas early because of their visit. I got a Pema Chodron calendar. She's a buddhist monk. Her wisdom has helped me stay sober even though it wasn't written for AA many of the buddhist principles are the same. Two of them are compassion and staying in the present moment.
I also got new pens, candy, a cd which I returned for credit that my uncle gave me, a music store certificate which I spent on The Indigo Girls DVD in concert and Billy Joel in concert on DVD. I also got from my brother I nice gift (a DVD series called Life) but it was on Blu Ray and I don't have that on my tv so I turned it in for credit and got Roger Waters Life at the Berlin Wall and Rush, Time Machine live in concert on DVD. There were some other presents too.
I was dating my now ex Fred but he never showed up except once so I called it off. Same old Fred! (We used to date but broke up because of the same issue) I saw Mission Impossible with my brother and his wife which was really good. He made a snide remark about the size of my large soda but otherwise we got along.
Before Christmas I saw Sherlock Holmes, Game of Shadows with my friend Devin who is my housemate at E St in South Portland. We both enjoyed it but I think I liked it more. Oh well.
Dylan
