When my wife became pregnant with our daughter I thought that it would be nice to write her a song so that she would have a special gift from her daddy. I wrote her a lullabye called "Sweet Dreams" which you can buy on a CD called "Serenity is Me" at my web site
Meditations by Matthew.
It was my first attempt at writing something mellow and relaxed. As I began playing it to everyone that I knew, they all enjoyed it and thought it was a beautiful piece and I should write more music in this style. That is how I began writing the meditational pieces that I am getting recognition for.
We ended up buying her a CD from Baby Einstein called Lullabyes. Great song choices but ultimately I wasn't impressed with the arrangements. I was bored and decided to recreate that CD with the correct instruments and complete pieces.
I knew that I had my hands full when I found out that "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" had many variations and the real title is "Ah, vous dirai-je maman," for piano in C major by Mozart. I began and completed the first ten minutes of the Baby Einstein CD with about forty minutes using the real instruments and complete pieces.
Here is the first piece called "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with all its variations.
