Like many I was sad to see the editor of ipeace resign and wondered what was happening to our site here. Then suddenly it was gone with only the message that the owner had taken it off line.
A hole appeared in my life. A space. A nothingness.
During the waiting silence of the Internet ether I wondered what ipeace means to you all.
It was started by our visionary leader who also took the initiative to light candles for Tibet. We still do on the 7th of each month as we have ever since that first Light Protest lit up the world and showed what a visionary can achieve by asking a simple question. The answer was a resounding inclusiveness sought by people of every country of the world. No longer would totalitarian governments be able to act in secret and hide their shame. Here was a group of people who wanted to be the change.
As so ipeace was born from the longings of these motivated people and the vision of David Califa.
What this site has meant to me is the meeting with some amazing people from all round the world that I would never have met otherwise...and the chance to work with many of them for the cause of peace. The chance to share in cultures and arts. I have met many in the real world as well at events like Peace One day and the World March for Peace and Nonviolence that circled the globe. I have met people from my own part of the world as well through this site.
Above all this site has proved to me that there are many in all parts of the world that share a vision with David himself of a different world where love, tolerance and respect rule the hearts of people; a world where it will be safe to have our families without the constant threat of war or violence. Such a world exists in the hearts of those on this site. We are the change...we need to keep saying this...there will be set backs along the way...sure there will. but every path up a mountain has to go downhill part of the way to gain the higher ground...and that is where we are heading.
So thank you David for re-starting our dreams again. We are peace. We are ipeace. We are back.
So what does it mean to you?
