"Tibet's Cry for Freedom" is a new documentary that was inspired by the desire to raise awareness of the Tibetan freedom struggle around the world. The main aim of the documentary is to reach mainstream audiences - audiences that would otherwise not be involved or who know little about the issue of Tibet. Filmed over 12 months in Tibet, Beijing, India and Australia, the documentary features exclusive interviews with the Dalai Lama, Professor Samdhong Rinpoche, Chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng, Lhasang Tsering, Tenzin Tsundue and many more. Director/Producer Lara Damiani quit her job, sold clothes and furniture, maxed out several credit cards and took out several bank loans to bring this production to the world stage. It has aired recently on TV New Zealand and has also screened at the Strasbourg International Film Festival. It will show at the ETNIA Film Festival in Finland next week and at the San Fernando Valley International Film Festival in the USA at the end of October. DVD's are now available for purchase and are an excellent resource for families, schools and anyone wanting to know more about the Tibetan freedom struggle.
