What has compulsory education done to our minds?

Why cannot we see through the layers of symptoms to levels from where the causes of our insane society rise?

Peace is an outcome. Peace will not arrive while while economic justice stays away. This is why all the peace loving good people of the world will yearn for it in vain. It is even more serious that the economic illiteracy fostered by general education blinds the public to the vital issue of how we, as a species, make our living on this still friendly but finite planet.

It's the economy, my friend --- not the climate change symptom, that should be our major concern. (Note: the original expression is, "It's the economy, stupid")

There is no excuse for ignorance. All the information needed for a fresh look at human predicaments is available; if only we would look at what really matters rather than what only seem to matter:

a ninety minute crash course in redesigning the future;
a set of short lessons in economics of the real world to understand the current crisis. An understanding experts (they got us here) do not seem to share;
just to mention two sources if world-saving insights. Confused, disagree? All the more important that these issued get discussed.

I will pick up on the rest of it when I have time. I think what you seek here are people living in the state of comfort hoping that their thoughts and prayers are enough intervention in the world situation.
