Emma Watson Named Goodwill Ambassador for U.N. Women
Just in case she wasn’t accomplished and likable enough already as an actress and Ivy League grad, Emma Watson took a break from fooling around with J.Law yesterday to reveal that she's landed a pretty important, not to mentionimpressive
In an official announcement, U.N. Women under-secretary-general and executive director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka raved about the new appointment, "We are thrilled and honored to work with Emma, whom we believe embodies the values of U.N. Women.” She continued, "The engagement of young people is critical for the advancement of gender equality in the 21st century, and I am convinced that Emma's intellect and passion will enable U.N. Women's messages to reach the hearts and minds of young people globally.”
And, it seems, we aren't the only ones incredibly excited about the news: Following the announcement of Watson's involvement, the U.N.'s website literally shut down due to an influx of traffic.
Gorgeous, supremely talented, and an international do-gooder? If we didn’t already know that Emma Watson is owning it in her own right, we’d say she’s the new Angelina Jolie.
