For a long time Tara Reid worried about her stomach, clearly those days are over.

The 38-year-old did not show a hint of insecurity as she confidently hit the red carpet in Beverly Hills, California, on Monday.

The American Pie star could not stop smiling as she was joined by co-star Ian Ziering at the NBCUniversal Summer TCA Press Tour.

And the pair certainly had every reason to smile, as they were promoting the sequel to Sharknado, which has seen their careers explode once more.

For her red carpet appearance, Tara donned a colourful dress that seemed to have taken inspiration from Monet's Water Lilies.

But the gown's real art was in managing to both allow the actress to show off her flat stomach and top of her cleavage without exposing more than she bargained for thanks to mesh panels and forgiving ruched areas of fabric.

While the Big Lebowski star is infamous for having wardrobe malfunctions, this time there was no such slip ups.

The dress - which twisted around her slender frame - also showed off the star's tanned shoulders and also her legs.

Tara accessorised her look with a Cartier Love Bracelet, a diamond encrusted watch and a pair of black strappy heels.

The actress looked great even though she previously had not felt confident about her stomach area following a botched liposuction.

She told People in 2008: 'There's not a day that goes by that my stomach doesn't bother me.

'[My stomach scars] are my battle wounds; boom, that's it. '

Fans of the star will soon get to see her once more in the made for television movie Sharknado 2: The Second One.

The original B-grade film - which aired on the SyFy channel - was a surprise worldwide hit with millions watching giant sharks attack Los Angeles after being sucked up by a water spout.

This time around the sea monsters are attacking New York on July 30 with Vivica A. Fox, Kelly Osbourne, Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick, Billy Ray Cyrus and Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath trying to survive.
