The State Trustees Overseeing The Hartford

The state trustees overseeing the Hartford school system have approved a revised version of a controversial redistricting plan that will move about 1,000 students to relieve overcrowding.

At right are the number of students that will be transferred:e

McDonough Elementary School The 150 students from Breakthrough Charter School will remain.

McDonough will also receive 135 students from Parkville Elementary School and 169 students from Moylan Elementary School based on street addresses.

This will increase McDonough's student population from 130 to 454, while reducing Moylan's from 795 to 626 and Parkville's from 774 to 639.

South Middle School South will receive 121 incoming sixth and seventh graders from Dwight Elementary School.

This will increase South's student population from 667 to 788 while reducing Dwight's from 617 to 496. Dwight will also change from a kindergarten through www.rocroy-svp.fr sixth grade school to a prekindgeraten through fifth grade school. King will receive 70 students from West Middle Elementary School based on street addresses. West Middle's bilingual students will www.cametleon.fr not be moved, as previously proposed.

This will increase King's student enrollment from 705 to 775, while reducing West Middle's from 883 to 813.

Hooker Elementary School Hooker will receive all new kindergarten students from Kennelly Elementary School. Students will be allowed to return to Kennelly when they start first grade.

This will increase Hooker's student enrollment from 291 to 397, while reducing Kennelly's from 895 to 795.

Barbour Elementary School All regular education 140 students will be transfered to Wish Elementary School,and the 70 special education students will be relocated to their neighborhood schools. Barbour will receive 140 students in kindergarten through fourth grade from the Hartford Transitional Learning Academy on Washington Street.
