This is a very sad news and weighs so much on my heart. Journalists are gods and when we lost our gods in their primes, it portends a bad omen. Madi, you should share this kind of information as soon as the happen so that members of the network are informed and can condole with the bereaved families. Please note that you must not only wait to inform us of the demise of a journalist. Let us know when any journalist is sick and what can be done to help their situations.
This is sad indeed and I am looking forward to hear about any plans you are making in this regard

Wishing you a happy, peaceful and prosperous new year to you Samba, all GCCI, iPeace members, and everyone around the world.

I also wish to commend you for the 60th celebrationof the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I just want to know how did you assess the prison conditions at Kumba Central Prisons? For the Gambia, we are receiving complains about poor prison conditions. Things such as disease outbreaks, poor diets and poor health conditions of prisoners, among others have been reported in our prisons, including the Mile Two Central Prison, country's main detention centre.

With regards to the new year, it was receive here with mix feelings. Mr Habibu Ceesay, the Secretary General of the Network of Human Rights Journalists (NHRJ)- The Gambia passed away on Saturday November 22, 2008 at his Busumbala residence at age 27. The 40 days Charity was coincided with the new year day- Thursday 1 January, 2009. This is the sad news about the new year day. Its a great lost for the Network, the Gambian media, his family, relatives and The Gambia and the rest of mankind. May his soul rest in perfect peace.. AMEEN.
The late Ceesay was amoung the participants at the West African journalists training programme organised by the African Commission in Banjul in February last year.
His untimely death has create a vacuum in our hearts, memmories and our lives in general. He was an ambitious youth and very open minded. He was a co-founder of the Network and love to promote human rights and dignity. He left lot of unaccomplish plans, and we are looking forward to form a special foundation in his memmory to keep his dreams and spirit alive and active in our day to day activism.
Peace and love to all
