All those who are applying for driving licence and are fighting with some kind of disability that would last longer than 12 months can enjoy the benefits from the Personal Independence Payment. This law is replacing Disability Living Allowance for eligible people who have legal working age between 16 to 64 years old.
This scheme will help and cover the extra cost which is incurred due to the long term disability. PIP is divided into two parts daily living component and mobility component, which is further divided into standard rates and enhanced rates. If you have applied for enhanced rate of the mobility component of the Personal Independence Payment, you can drive the car at the age of 16.
PIP was later on amended too. A reliability criterion was added to it in which it was mentioned that what they are looking into a human being when they are carrying out the activities.
Are they doing things safely enough or not?
Are they according to the acceptable standard set?
How many times it is being performed?
Is it in a reasonable time period or not!
Hence these all factor are taken into consideration while providing one with the PIP.
