Chloe Draper, a fashion design and fashion marketing graduate from the University of East London (UEL), won the Fashion Marketing Award at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week.

Chloe emerged triumphant following a gruelling interview process during which she was also critiqued on a business plan and marketing report that she had created for an online fashion company focussed on older women.

“It feels amazing to win the award,” Chloe said after last week’s event.

“It’s the best feeling in the world. I was so happy that my hard work in marketing has been recognised. It makes me very emotional.”

In addition to Chloe’s success, 23 UEL fashion students and graduates saw their collections sashay down the runway on Sunday as part of the UEL catwalk show.

The prestigious event, which has helped to launch the careers of designers including Stella McCartney and Julien MacDonald, took place from Saturday to Tuesday.

About 30,000 guests marvelled at unique designs from 1,000 of the world’s best fashion students and graduates and enjoyed 22 catwalk show from 40 universities.

Graduate Fashion Week was founded in 1991 to unify UK and international universities and to create a stronghold for the industry.

UEL’s catwalk show included designs such as laser-cut hearts and a gender-blurring take on menswear.Read more here:formal dresses 2014
