In response to an Israeli who claims to be a Peace Activist

Dear Noa,

YOU said. "I have seen the peace process rise and fall..."
I say, let's be honest about this, there has never once been an honest attempt by Israel for a peace process but instead there has been ever increasing human rights violations poured down on the Palestinian people disguised as "protecting Israel against the enemy."

YOU said, "That enemy is fanaticism ... All have fallen to this destructive, horrible fanaticism at some point in their histories and the results have been devastating."
Yes, I say that fanaticism is a horrific extreme in any form however, the oppressed, deprived, abused, victims of Palestine are far from fanatics. They are simply fighting for their right to survive and hope to one day thrive again in their own land. This is land where their ancestors have lived and farmed for centuries. I have been in Palestine! I lived in Palestine! My husband is Palestinian. I expereinced the abusive behavior by the IFD myself alongside my Palestinian family while I was there. I KNOW what it feels like to be treated like a cockroach by an elite armed force by a FANATICAL government that has no intention of peace with the Palestinian people but instead a master plan to irradicate them from existence so they can take over the entire region for more incoming immigrants Jews from around the world.

YOU said, "I have often spoken out against fanaticism in my country, ........ I see it’s black eyes and spine-chilling smile, I see blood on its hands and I know one of its many names: Hamas."
For your information, Hamas was democratically elected by the Palestinian people in Gaza to govern and lead them as much as could be done within the confines of Israel's apartheid walls. You see, Gaza, is nothing more than a ghetto, a walled in open air prison. Life in your home by the Sea could never compare to life under occupaiton. Israel has always been in control of this situation allowing and disallowing food, medicine, water, electricity, and other essential things needed for a common life whenever it pleased. Israel has pushed and tortured and punished the people of Gaza and all of Palestine to try it best to provoke anykind of meagar attack do that they could go in and demolish hundreds and thousands.

YOU said, "You know it is raping your women and raping the minds of your children. You know it is educating to hatred and death. You know it is chauvinistic and violent, greedy and selfish, it feeds on your blood and screams out Allah’s name on vain, it hides like a thief, uses the innocent as human shields, uses your mosques as arsenals, lies and cheats, uses YOU, tortures you, holds you hostage!!"
I say, you know nothing about Islamic culture, Arab culture, Palestinian culture at all. You know nothing of how women are admired, honored and treated like jewels. You know nothing of the strong Arab women I know (Muslim and Christian) who are professionals, who are executives, who are medical doctors, who are teachers, mothers.

YOU said, "I know you are SICK of being held hostage by this demon, this ugly beast, .....I have watched it miss so many opportunities, and as a citizen of this country I am the first to admit it and criticize its foolery. ....."
I say, "Why do you think it is just to wall in an entire ethnic group of people who are indigenous to a region, torture them by building beautiful settlements in view of their eyes on land stolen from them, construct super highways that they are not allowed to used, oppress them, cut them off from any means of making a decent living, imprison them on a whim for any reason at all including children, bulldoze down their homes for any obscure or made up reason, brutalize them at checkpoints and even torture them in front of other Palestinians, obliterate them hundreds at a time because they tried to fight for their right to exist, .................... NO justice - No peace ----- ever heard of Ilan Palle

YOU said, "Enough my brother …." Do you treat your brothers this way?

YOU said, "you want some coffee? Here, sit for a while…lets talk….we know the words, we know the songs, we know the road…."
I say, any Palestinian that I know would love to simply drive or walk to your home to sit with you in a civilized manner to drink coffee, sing, talk, laugh, contemplate life, etc..... but, unfortunately they are being held captivate to Israeli imposed apartheid. Israel would be a beautiful place if the Palestinians also had such a luxury as to simply be able to come visit you to sit and drink coffee. What a luxury to have such freedom!

Sincerely,
Roro Faraj,
Christian, American, Palestinian at heart, who loves all people of all belief systems all over the world.

Dear Roro, I don't think you are fair to Noa. She's been 'fighting' peacefully against the fanatics and their methods on BOTH sides, and has been doing that TOGETHER with her Palestinian friends.
She respects the democratic wish of the Palestinians, but is critical of Hamas methods, like training children to blow themselves up in busses full of civilians, or firing rockets at civilians, or shooting from behind unarmed civilians as if they almost hope the Israelis will fire back and kill many innocents. And while people like Noa are trying to keep her own people from overreacting and will probably agree with you that the Palestinians should be able to come and 'have a coffee' together, Hamas is at the moment as much guilty as Israel for the poor conditions the people in Gaza live in today, I think
.For instance , If the Israeli army doesn't prevent food and medical aid to get in,wich is bad enough, Hamas will take them and keep the people deprived of them. The leadership on BOTH sides don't seeem to care about the Palestinian people. They just USE their suffering for publicity on CNN or Al Jazeera or whatever, it seems to me . Ask the red cross, the red crescent moon, or Doctors without Borders about that........Lets be fair , and not blind to the 'mistakes' on both sides.
Do not make the mistake to blame Noa for the policies of her country's government , just as as she is not blaming the Palestinian VOTERS, but is critical about the METHODS of Hamas, as well as the methods of the fanatics among her own countrymen.

YOU say you love all people,........... I hope that includes Noa and her Palestinian friends
If you are a true Christian like you say, why 'throw the first stone' at a peaceful lady who openly dares to criticizes the violence and unfairness on BOTH sides? And who loves the people even when they vote for a party who's chapter says in effect that her country, that SHE didn't steal from you, should be 'erased'.................
Noa understands maybe more than you presume

I remember once reading about a guy from Nazareth who was critical about the violent methods of the occupator as well as the violent resistance of his own people.......................
So why not work together ?You might find more common ground than you think..........
I would like to point all of you to the new post of Noa, "Israeli who claims to be a Peace Activist".

Mission Statement

A campaign to divest from Israel and to boycott Israeli products and leisure tourism has gathered momentum across the globe. Money talks. Many will abandon their support of Israel if their economic interests are threatened. These boycott campaigns will continue to grow until Israel

withdraws from the occupied areas,

respects human rights (including right of refugees to return to their homes and lands),

and obeys International law.

In addition to their economic effects, activists can and have used boycotts and divestment campaigns as educational tools. Universities, business people, and consumers are educated about the support we provide Israeli aggression by our purchases and investments. Reports from activists have been encouraging and are analogous to the early successes that snowballed into the pressure on South Africa that ended Apartheid. Join us and together we will succeed to bring peace with justice to all people in the Middle East. As repeatedly quoted: "Think Globally and Act Locally."

I did it!
Just to remind anyone reading this.....
Israel's recent terror on Gaza included flagrant breaches of international law, the bombing of densely populated neighbourhoods, the illegal deployment of chemical white phosphorous, and attacks on schools, ambulances, relief agencies, hospitals, universities and places of worship.
Monstrous!

And yet more illegal demolitions of Palestinian homes continues by the new Nazi regime, Israel

Israel, you are not winning any popularity contests in the world. If ever you wanted to tarnish the image a Jew, you have succeeded, oh tyrannical, Israel! You will regret what you have done, Israel.
Roro,

I just came home from vacation..
I met Isreali Arabs groups on tour ..Moslem and Druze..Two very different groups..
Both groups were led by guides who are members of the Israeli Society for Nature Preservation.
I spoke to both guides..one who very much identifies with the State of Israel and the other who is a student at Haifa Univ. and spoke about an alleged massacre that happened in 1948.

We spoke about the need to walk this land together and learn about our various perspectives. He knows that many Jews want to hear the truth about what happened. It is not coincidental that the newspaper report he quoted from, about the research concerning the massacre was from a large Hebrew popular newspaper (not Haaretz).

Reading your post above with the words "new Nazi regime, Israel" is more than displeasing.

Fighting for what is right..opening up the eyes of those who wish to ignore can not be done by the primitive, demagogic use of cheap rhetoric that does a disservice to the truth.

Where is the border between proper criticism, understandably angry rhetoric, cheap Israel/Zionist Bashing and disgusting badmouthing??? I am not always sure...but lady, i think you have crossed the line!
Roro, I went back and read what Noa wrote. I could not find in her words anything of what you align her with in this discussion. She only voices her view of the Hamas as a criminal gang. "I know you are SICK of being held hostage by this demon, this ugly beast, .....I have watched it miss so many opportunities, and as a citizen of this country I am the first to admit it and criticize its foolery. ....."

Truth is that they are what she describes, and you have been unfair to 'Israeli who claims to be a Peace Activist' .

How else can you call an organization that steals food, blankets and medicine sent by good people like yourself to the needy Gaza people?

UN: Hamas police seized food aid and blankets from needy Gazans

By The Associated Press

A United Nation spokesman on Wednesday accused Hamas police in Gaza Strip of seizing thousands of blankets and food parcels meant for needy residents.

Spokesman Christopher Gunness said Hamas police raided a UN warehouse in Gaza City late Tuesday, snatching 3,500 blankets and over 400 food parcels.

The aid is especially vital now because Gazans are facing hardship after Israel's three-week military offensive against Hamas, which left thousands homeless.

The Gaza Strip is ruled by Hamas Islamists, who seized control of the territory from forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in 2007 after winning an election the previous year.

Gunness said Wednesday this was the first time Hamas had seized UN aid, but Israeli officials have charged that the militant group routinely confiscates supplies meant for needy Gazans.

A Hamas government spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Meanwhile, Abbas' West Bank-based government on Wednesday annnounced a $600 million reconstruction prograM, most of which would be funded by foreign donors.

Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, who heads Abbas' Western-backed government, said the project would cover all houses destroyed or damaged during a 22-day Israeli military offensive.

"The amount of the project is e600 million. Most of it will come from donors," Fayyad said in a speech, adding that the details would be announced in the coming days.

Egypt is to host an international conference in coordination with Abbas's Palestinian Authority on March 2 on Gaza reconstruction, whose cost has been estimated at $2 billion. Saudi Arabia has said it would donate e1 billion.

Last week, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit urged Europe to help with fast aid for the Gaza Strip, saying the reconstruction meeting would require damage assessments and the support of the European Union, the United Nations and others.
Roro you say

Could this because of a segment of the Palestinian population that has only one objective and that is to kill as many Jews as possible and they do this with suicide bombers? I sit down with Palestinians, and Jordanians and Egyptians all the time and we drink, laugh, sing together. We are friends. There is one thing that none of us have to worry about... A suicide bomber killing all of us for being friends.

Do not spin my words I did not say all Palestinians, I said a segment of the population. You know the old axiom....One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel. Get the terrorism to stop and peace will be around the corner.
