Be Love like all great visions, began and functions in accordance with destiny. Co founders and life partners KamGi Chak and Kyle Finch met because the wind of Spirit blew us together. We created Be Love because we see nonviolence as Love, the highest Truth, and we are committed to supporting education and action that is aligned with the great teachings of nonviolence. The Be Love apparel brand (gorgeous eco/organic t-shirts) is the powerful vehicle designed to sustain our mission.
Our union synthesized back in the year 2001 when KamGi from London was studying Thai Yoga Massage in Northern Thailand at the precise time that Kyle from Memphis was riding towards the Cambodian border on a mountain bike in Southern Laos. The border crossing was closed indefinitely and Kyle was blown back to Thailand and up North to Chiang Mai where his yet unknown love was not expecting him.
We met on a footpath leading to a stunning waterfall near Pai, Thailand and for two weeks merged and loved unconditionally. We then parted ways, KamGi to Burma and Kyle to Nepal, not knowing when we would see one another again. As Spirit would guide, it would be more than a year later that we would reunite when Kyle sent KamGi a ticket to come to Los Angeles where we live together now in a crooked little house that we call home in the beautiful mountains of Topanga California. It is the same house that our children, 4-year-old Jai and 2-year-old Satya, would come to be born in.
Together, we are coming to recognize the unlimited possibilities that lie before us. As we seek to create positive change we see that nonviolent action is the great power that continues to awaken. Nonviolence is Truth and as such is inevitable and invincible. We believe that its power is the greatest in the universe for creating the change we envision. The masters of this Truth from Christ to Gandhi from the Buddha to Dr. King are our guides. Through these teachers we are gifted with the perfect blueprint for creating true peace within and here on our awesome planet Earth.
”If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children.”
--Mohandas Gandhi
Be Love functions in accordance with this Truth expressed by Gandhi. We see that nonviolence education is fundamental to a future of peace. Our work is to help fund and implement nonviolence education programs for youth through Common Peace, our partner nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational organization. We donate 10% of our profits to the work of Common Peace. www.commonpeace.org
Youth, as well as adults, need to know that there are options when we ask them to make a nonviolent choice. We all need to have an intimate experience with the language, history, and the concepts of nonviolence in order to confront conflict and negativity without resorting to violence. The building blocks of this knowledge are presented in the comprehensive teaching guide written and published through Common Peace called ‘64 Ways to practice nonviolence’.
Haven’t we all been thoroughly exposed to the language, history, and ideas of violence?
Through early and consistent education, the learning field can be balanced so that we begin to find it natural to choose the strength and positivism of nonviolence over the negativity of violence.
We will create a world free from the violence we see today when we arm ourselves with the tools of nonviolence.
We are filled with SO much gratitude to have found each other and to be part of the transformative shift that is taking place on our planet at this time.
We are helping to build a tribe of nonviolent warriors and your participation is deeply appreciated.
With Love & Gratitude,
Kyle & KamGi
