EVERYONE MUST KNOW ABOUT THIS!!

Recently, British Royal Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because
they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffees, and to
request that that they send some of it to the troops there.

Starbucks replied, telling the Royal Marines thank you for their support of their business, but that Starbucks DOES NOT support the the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee!!

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should support them by NOT buying any of their products! I feel we should get this out in the open. I know this war may not be very popular with some people, but that doesn't mean we don't support the boys on the ground, fighting street to street and house to house...

By the way - when 9 / 11 happened - helpers went to Starbucks and got water for the survivors and Starbucks CHARGED THEM... for water - in a major crisis situation!! Well, I never heard of anything so cheap in all
my life!!!

There are Starbucks coffee shops in Britian, and I wouldn't be surprised that Starbucks goes of of business very fast. British people stick to there own kind and that means they really stick together. They'll find somewhere else to go for coffee and totally ignore Starbucks completely!!! Nobody insults the British and gets away with it - especially Their Royal Marines... So bye, Bye Starbucks.

If I were you - don't be a wimp - boycott Starbucks NOW.
We have Tim Hortons' in CANADA and they have been around for far more decades than Starbucks. And they are always donating coffee to causes. That is what has made Tim Hortons' a leading coffee dealer in the world.
Tim Hortons' has Summer camps for kids run by professionals (and Day Camps run by Professionals). It's too bad the British Royal Marines didn't ask Tim Hortons'????

This was an email from a very reliable source in Nova Scotia. It is the truth from a Canadian soldier who came home wounded in Iraq. And word got
all around Nova Scotia. It was emailed to me.

What a coffee shop does over seas in not of my bs. If we were all to add up the crimes done by corps we buy things now, we would almost starve. I forget the name of the man who made must of these pc's we connect on; oh Gates-he ain't perfect but he does donate a lot-even through Buffet-buffet isn't the socialist Soros is are am I confused completely?
The point is simple - the troops like the coffee. They ask politely and are turned down BECAUSE Starbucks doesn't anything to do with the War OR ANYONE involved in it!!! Is that not rude enough for you. And 9/11 - charging for tap water when there a complete disaster going on right in "their back yard"!!

What a socialist Soros? Bill Gates donates to; through, whatever Buffet-buffet?
Now you've lost me!

To be honest I think the issue of them not sending their coffee to Iraq is irrelevant. It's understandable that they may not want their "products" tied up in a war, possibly it could be moral. They might not want their staff in a warzone. They might just flat out see it as a bad buisiness move. I mean the troops didn't get reinforced hummers and equipment when they asked for them either.

But I have heard of them charging people money for water after the attacks. Which is against the law, because having water is a basic human right and they had no right to ask for money off of anybody for it. But how does that suprise you ? The ethics of starbucks has never been really affiliated with human rights. Closing down so many local coffee shops in a very dominant way. Just like walmart, moving through places and taking the sense of community out of so many towns along the way. I don't use Starbucks ever anyway. What youf ound there Lynn is a very small drop in the ocean of why I hate the place. But I will admit that it's backed up with people seeing drinking their coffee as a "lifestyle choice" instead of a well advertised plan. But the last part is my own grumpy arrogance to some corporations stratagies.

Fintan: First of all - This is not irrelevant! There would be NO STAFF over in Iraq! No coffee shop would be set up. The supplies of coffee would come in with
the shipments of food for the Soldier's and also to the American Soldier's!!!
Their are Starbucks coffee Shops in Britain that I'm sure are "Hurtin'" real bad right now because nobody insults the British - especially the soldier's - and gets away with it. Trust me I know the British people. Starbucks are just being "Snobs" and as a Traviler - I know the Americans are not very popular anywhere in the United States!! And any other country. Sending coffee to the troops is a tax write off. Tim Hortons knows that in Canada that is why they are so powerful and have shops all across Canada? Where I live - which is a small city there are at least 4 Tim Hortons coffee shops here. Your 'so called grumpy arrogance, as you put it' to some corporations stratagies - is just you're way of saying: "I agree with the choice Starbucks has made and I don't use Starbucks ever anyway!!" That is a double standard if I ever heard one...
Whatever I dropped in the "so called Ocean" certainly isn't my pride for the Troops fighting to keep this War in Check! Americans; Canadians; British and anyother force of support, are all trying to stop this fighting - and Starbucks has just been shot in the foot for their arrogance!!
No Lynn, I still think it's irrelevant. A coffee store doesn't have to donate coffee to troops if it doesn't want to. They have that right. I mean did you go and protest when nearlly every soldier complained about lack of armour on their vehicles ? or body armour ? or for weaponry that actually works ? No, i don't think you did. And I don't see double standards in what I wrote at all. I just told why I didn't like them. But I do agree with people making their own choices.

Fintan: Which Country asked for 'Hummers' - whatever the hell they are? I give up on this issue because - nobody gets the point. They are a failing company anyway so why not
put the "pressious" name back on the 'map' (so to speak) by OFFERING to donate the coffee - it is a tax write off anyway!!! Why do you think in Canada, Tim Horton's has made it so BIG - wide spread across Canada? Bring yourself into prespective, here!!!
If you want to compare an American Company and coffee and "Amour" and 'hummers' (which is a government issue - you know!!) and American. Then - everyone has their opinion and I thank you for yours... But LET IT GO! I am sick of this!! Thank you: LYNN
