A100 Pictures, Images and Photos

I have started this mainly for Les as he is the photographer amongst us, and this will be a place were we can all visit to see what he has snapped, rather than have then scattered about the group. My postings will mainly be what I have found on the web, I will mark the ones that were taken by either my son or daughter :) If you want to just post a photo, as many as you like, with no explanation that's fine, but if you want to let us know a little more about the image that would be great.

My friend has been trying to entice me to visit her in Devon. I am saving and hopefully one day, I will make a flight across the pond...I shall be asking if I can carry your bags!!!!

I found this for your travelling spirit.

This is what I do so love about cyber-space: Travelling around the world with one''s mind as a vehicle.

I was called into work earlier than expected today, which of course is yet another blessing....I love you....Thank you so much for your loving hospitality... xox
Devon is a lovely county, keep saving, it will be worth the trip. We will be offering to carry your bags when you arrive in the UK... that is for sure.

The trees in the video are magnificent, though I felt for the one that is driven through!

To love your work is a wonderful thing.

Have a great day melody.
I have just posted a film in the cinema that I love, it's called 'The Big Trees' a 1952 classic.

Don't worry if you have not got the time to watch it, one day you might have.
I found this for you on youtube melody, it's a village in Devon called Clovelly, it's a bit of a tourist attraction and can be very busy in the summer and I believe that you have to pay now to visit it, you did not have to when I was last there, many years ago, It's very pretty and in the summer donkeys go up and down the hill.

Oh Clovelly! It's ages since I was there although I now live just in the next county. I well remember the donkeys. I don't know if they're still there. They were starting to use jeeps too when I last visited.

I'd encourage you to make the trip Melody if you possibly can, and make use of your friends and any other contacts to see parts of the country you might not otherwise go to. So many tourists from the States go to London, Bath, Stratford on Avon and maybe York. Lovely though they are (though not London in my book!), they are not representative of the rest of England.
I agree with you Les, London is best viewed via a video, I was last there about 10 years ago, and am in no hurry to go back, even though we don't live that far from it. I used to work in London in the early 70's and it was a good place to be then, even though we had the constant threat of an IRA bomb going off anywhere.

When I last went to Clovelly the donkeys were there and I bought one of their removed worn shoes as a reminder of the visit. One of the videos I viewed last night searching for a good one to post was taken in 2008 and the donkeys were in it, but it was shot in the summer, so they are probably only there for the main season.

You must know of many of the places worth a visit in England Les, Birling Gap is a good one for me but a bit too far from Dorset. I will try to find a video of that for melody. Dartmeet has fond memories for me also.

Here are a couple more taken in the San Juan Islands, Pacific North-West, USA.
I just find this place indescribably beautiful and never tire of looking at it - so I sure hope you feel the same!

I agree, it is a beautiful place. Lovely photos too Les.

Just indulge me one more time! Not the San Juans this time but on the same trip. Popular transport around Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

They are lovely, the second one is my favorite. We are not indulging you, far from it, we are very much enjoying your photos.

The earth beneath the water all the way to the sky, passing through the trees, up the mountain to the snow caps, it takes you on a journey, a wonderful journey. These are Sophie's thoughts not mine, I'm not that poetic :)
Well thank you both! I'm glad you enjoyed them. We certainly enjoyed being there. We ascended Whistler Mountain too which was pretty awesome as you can imagine.
That must have been exciting. Ross does climbing, did you have to be roped up and use all the gear?
