A100 Pictures, Images and Photos

I have started this mainly for Les as he is the photographer amongst us, and this will be a place were we can all visit to see what he has snapped, rather than have then scattered about the group. My postings will mainly be what I have found on the web, I will mark the ones that were taken by either my son or daughter :) If you want to just post a photo, as many as you like, with no explanation that's fine, but if you want to let us know a little more about the image that would be great.

We went in the cable car for the first stage then the chair lift to the summit!
In my youth I used to climb and abseil and all sorts of energetic things - not so much now!
There is nothing wrong with using what is available, I would have too :)
There were mountain-bikers riding down from the 6000ft stage. That looked like a load of fun - if a little scary in places.
Ross has just taken up biking, he goes with friends to a place in Bracknell, the other day he went to a venue in Tillgate, which is not that far from us, loads of jumps and things. Not my scene, it took me ages to learn to ride a bike when I was a kid, it was my friends mum that eventually taught me, she was kind and nice and I guess I trusted her that's why I learned with her assistance.
Wow! This is very crisp...did yoy take those?
Hi Erika........ Les has just gone to lunch, I think he did take the photos himself, they are good aren't they.

Not a very good picture I'm afraid but can you see the guy (or girl of course) just above centre?

This was at the foot of the mountain of course.

Ross has just had a look at the photo and he says it's like the place he went to at Tilgate Forest, except there are loads of trees around so if you make a mistake you end up wrapped around a tree!

This place looks a real adventure mecca.

The only chair lift I have been on was at Isle of Wight, the place where you make things from coloured sand. The chair lift was fine, but the wasps that fly around you when you are strapped on them were horrific, I'm not that keen on wasps, in fact I am a bit frightened of them, though I would never hurt one.
Oh yes, Alum Bay. Haven't been there for a few years!

Pity about the wasps. They say that a wasp won't hurt you unless you're interfering with it. Unfortunately the wasps seem to be working from a different definition of 'interfering'.
I'd virtually throw myself off a cliff if a wasp came near me... I have nearly caused myself some serious GBH in attempting to escape them. I was chased through two fields by one once and I did a Frankie Dettori off of my pony to get away from one on another occasion, luckily he just found it amusing and stood there eating whatever was closest while 100mph down the hill!
I can vouch for the FD moment, it was when Sophie was not old enough to hack out on her own, I would walk about a 100 yards behind her, then all of a sudden she leaped of Jack and hot footed it away, I had no idea what had happened. Jack is a wonderful pony, I think he was a bit unsure what was going on too, but as all ponies only think with their stomachs he soon turned his thoughts to food.

Alum Bay........ well done for remembering Les.
My son, Silas, had a wasp or a bee hiding inbetween his bed sheets. And it stung!
We did not know what it was until I found it there...he had a lot of pain and was very swollen. He is quite sensetive to animal bites.

Once a mosquito bit his head - he was around one - and half his head was totally swe´lled up. I was terrified, another time he had something biting his ear and it got all deformed for a couple of days.
