Isn't it odd ? When he wears that t-shirt ones' mind is not taken to think of the B.N.P., and the rest of the prejudiced element within our fractured Society that mistakes Nationalism for Patriotism.

I find it remarkable that the media, and most people quite honestly think of Morrissey as a dour and miserable man. He is the opposite. I also find his standing staunchly behind his beliefs and not being a hypocrite, as so many 'stars' are, is to be applauded.

I cannot stomach hypocrisy...Most Governments survive on it as their staple diet, unfortunately.....

Boyd’s Wind Grist Mill in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, EnglandThis windmill was built in 1810.

Right, off to the salt mines once more.........Bysee-bye, until the next time....
I don't ever think of the BNP, but I am proud to be English. I like Morrissey because of the reasons you have stated Percy, he has been accused of lots of things by the media, who like to insight trouble when it suits them.

Lovely picture of the windmill. We have one not too far from us.
Billy, Billy, Billy...............................
(Sorry for the lip-sync, just love the clip, the record, Billy and that it shows an era long gone.......Many Mods in the audience...Thought it was from Ready, Steady, Go!', but, now I don't believe it is...Anyone know ?).
Don't worry about the lip-sync for me my computer is out of sync for everything I watch!

I have not heard a Billy Fury song for a long long time.... thanks :)
The Police made some great music, and Sting has done too. I used to watch the TOGWT sometimes many moons ago.

"Every breath you take" the stalker song!
That's a lovely story, we can associate so many memories to music.... and make ourselves feel happy, or sad, when we listen.

Your sister was very clever at 5 to remember all the works.

I will post my favorite Police song, when I have found it on youtube :)
Sting plays the part of 'The Face', in the film, Quadrophenia, at the start of your 'London' Group...
....and was also in Brimstone and Treacle, a very odd flick set in London...very odd indeed.....
A middle class commuter belt couple Mr Bates (Denholm Elliot) and Mrs Bates (Joan Plowright) are duped into taking a charming young man Martin(Sting)into their house to help care for their catatonic daughter (Suzanna Hamilton). Martin claims to have been close to their daughter before an accident left her unable to communicate. As the film progresses the couple mistakenly start to trust Martin and dark family secrets are revealed.
Originally a stage play written by Dennis Potter the film is in turn engrossing, disturbing and claustrophobic. Denholm Elliot is as ever brilliant as the lonely and disturbed father figure, Sting puts in a good performance as a strange and demonic young man, Joan Plowright is very good as the maternal and naive housewife.
The two slight let downs for me were the music which I didn't feel fitted in well with the film and the main fantasy sequence which didn't stand the test of time well.
Other than that the film held my attention throughout, the direction by Richard Loncraine was extremely capable, all in all an intriguing and idiosyncratic piece which is well worth a watch.................
This song was featured over the closing credits of the movie "Brimstone and Treacle". If you've seen the film, the irony of this song is devastating. Sting actually does a pretty decent soft-shoe in this video (though as a dancer, he's no Kate Bush).
I challenge you to spot a female human amongst the audience...

Haha.....I think I know why...............................
....................This rare performance features an elegantly youthful Mr. Fame at the gateway to a legendary career.
He is truly one of the most underestimated masters of Pop, Rock and Jazz.
This clip is from the British television program, Ready, Steady, Go and the year was 1965.
Enjoy Gang!
Can't view this clip so don't know if it's the one I wanted from my files....If it is you may see a young Andy Summers, who later was the guitarist with the Police....Have to wait till I've time to check it on a computer (these iPhones are rubbish after a year, they begin to deteriorate (so you up-grade on your contract. Have had many a chat on that subject)).

Why Percy?
I sent this to the pernicious Joni, but don't think she'll mind sharing....These were a bunch of stage school, North London lads (recently re-formed and have sold-out gigs). Two of which played the parts of those lovely old rogues, The Kray Twins, in the film of the same name, the bain of many a poor East London immigrant not too long after the War, where they should've found sanctuary, some were intimidated, ruined and more, through the two brother's extortion racketeering. Hitting the poorest and most vulnerable with fear and force...Lovely, eh ? More later on the seedier side of our Capital on the 'London' page (when I get around to it). Also one was a character in Eastenders television soap......But that's enough of that...I love 'em, they were there in the stylish New Romantics era of English pop music.......A cavalier and dandy approach but with a kick of a mule..and fine musicians and vocalist, to boot !...
Just walked out from work....Can't hang around for nothin', lads and lasses !!!!Doin' this in the cab home so hope I've done it ok....
I am glad they have reformed and settled all their differences. Tony kept singing, did you watch the programme when a group of celebs went on a tour bus around the USA, if I remember correctly, with a few others who had had a career downshift, Sonia was one of the others I think.

They made great music, apparently their Martin and Gary's mum made their stage clothes, good old mums!
