Thank you also, Riccardo, for the inquiry about the school board event that I organize. It is indeed for the whole school district. I did not initiate the celebration, but I was asked to take over as the producer (it is a celebration on stage through the arts) and overall organizer. The celebration is focused on the messages of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and the central themes are equity, non-violence, and service to others. Approximately 500 students from our school board from grades 1 - 12 perform on stage and 2,000 students from within our board attendance in the audience. This year I will be working with a colleague on preparing a resource package for schools so that they can integrate the 3 central themes into all areas of the curriculum -- literacy (including media literacy) numeracy, science, social studies, health, the Arts, etc etc (and also of course general character building).

I have thought about Oct. 2nd -- the problem is that it is difficult to plan large scale activities at the start of the school year (school starts here about Sept. 7th) and teachers are very busy setting up their classroom communities, etc. IT could be possible -- and is food for thought -- that would require work in April/May/June of the previous school year.

Any thoughts --- links, etc too to help connect equity, non-violence, service to others to the curriculum would be welcomed! I am also a member of the Gandhi - King online community and there are some excellent resources there.

Thank you for alerting me about the spammers....I hardly look at my profile here (not that I don't want to -- not enough time!). I appreciate your comments.

Pleased to meet you Ricardo, I've not been paying attention to this network yet, so I'm not clear how my wry comment to our friend Usman came to your attention, but your appreciation is appreciated. Greetings from the misty mountains of SW Poland

I've been interested in prayer beads for quite a while. I've made my own-like the necklace I use as my profile picture-but haven't made any yet that are from a specific tradition. Sort of a goal for this winter for me. I think the making will be as soothing to the soul as the using is.

Dear Riccardo, I am artist and sculptor too, German, at this moment living in the Canadian wilderness (province Québec), and I really would like to see your sculptor garden, which I cannot open because of the low speed of my PC here,
is it possible to transform it into powerpoint and to send it directly(as a link) on my e-mail-adress?-greetings to Europe, gruezzi Heike

Thank you Riccardo for bringing this beautiful video to Tree-Life - I remember when Bruno lost most of the sculptures in his garden in the 2009 bush fires but he just carried on sculpting. He is an inspiration.
