especially the film by Avi Mograbi I would recommend: it shows the lines between individual guilt, responsibility and conscoiusness about the crimes and acts of arbitrary they have done within the system of the IDF and what kind of impact that has for the rest of their lifes ...
having seen all this leads me to the conclusion that there should be found an organisation who examine all these war crimes - if you can call it like that - and bring the responsible persons (commanders) to justice - remember Pinochet !!! ...
... and all who have participated in such crimes (soldiers) should help to disclosure it ... it will take years ... but it must be done!!!

if all the soldieres resist its millitary peace will not be so far. brainwashing must be stoped.--
It's hot ... a great film that helps document how violence victimizes all, even the perpetrators of it. What's missing? True peacemaking. Therapy for the ex-soldier is given short shrift. He gets to go back and visit soldiers now on patrol. "The situation hasn't changed." What are we, as human beings, doing about such maladaptive responses to conflict? I'm talking about the state policies that put people into these positions, not about what they do in response, which this film documents well. The reason the initial footage was suppressed is that it was too controversial, and would have shed light on such deliberate, structural, institutionalized oppression.
The answer is peacemaking. It is an art and a science. It really works. When it's done right, it *always* works. I / we need more people ready to know this, say this, teach this.
