Why

The Children of the Future,
will only know chaos and war,
bullet wounds and sutures,
street fights behind the bar...
Why?
Education is the tool,
but they gotta act a fool,
bringing guns to school,
paralized,they sit and drool...
Why?
Never fail,they end up in jail,
against the wall,
waitin' for a call,
being too tall to ask,
but too weak for the task...
Why?
if they're too thick,
or not in th clique,
if they're too thin,
or not fitting in...
Why?
Sitting in th' beds,
using and abusing th' meds,
through fear and need,
for attention do they bleed,
they just can't hide,
from fear locked deep inside
and tears that won't subside,
some committing suicide...
Why?
Our children are our future,
with care and love we nurture,
we teach them killing is wrong,
even put it in our songs,
Why?
Do they see right from wrong
we were fighting all along,
no,it is no mystery,
war throughout our history...
Why?

in a world full of need,
rape abuse and greed,
false heros claim the deed,
for their freedom do we bleed,
