Dear all,

I am currently interested in martial arts as a path to peace (aikido, and such techniques that peacefully deal with aggression). I would like to find others who are interested in these ideas. Ideally it would be great to create a group here on ipeace - something like "warriors for peace"

The difficulty is finding the people who would be interested. Do you know anyone, or would you have any idea how to find those people?

thanks,
Alexander

that's what we're evolving towards, sure. but we need to fulfill people's short term needs so they don't blow this up again before we get to paradise!

I agree with you we need the interim market. But we should not give up with it .. personally I have a vision of post-national sustainable society, , empowered individuals, with new value-system and community currency.

thanks, Wael. but Palestine has to generate LOTS of jobs for the refugees to accept compensation and settle in Palestine. they need markets for their goods & they need them NOW. If they're going to wait then they might as well wait for a one state solution.

Adam, the traditional economics is the main part of most crises in life. The help we need is by introducing new solution and ideas belongs to new generation of understanding reality and nature.

And I believe we Palestinian need to learn natural-resistance and co-creation society foundations instead of consumption and depending on others.

my company, No Sweat Apparel produces organic cotton T-shirts at a sweatshop-free Palestinian owned factory on Virgin Mary Street in Bethlehem. Here’s a link to an al Jazeera segment about the project.

http://www.youtube.com/nosweatapparel

Our Jewish, Israeli & US mainstream press has been just as positive. Apparently we’ve found an elusive piece of common ground- more good jobs for Palestinians in Palestine will help the situation. While economic development is no substitute for a diplomatic settlement, no settlement can survive without a sustainable Palestinian economy. So while waiting for a political resolution we have created a mechanism for ordinary citizens of good faith to build good will on the ground & support the peace to come. We’re marketing these T-shirts wholesale (blank or custom printed) to Jewish, Muslim, Christian & secular schools & camps in the US, Canada & Israel.

The concept is simple. When faced with an apparently irresolvable conflict, if there is any one thing all parties agree on- do that one thing and see what happens.

but strong concept is the lesser 3rd of a successful business. to realize the concept requires adequate resources & strong execution. The current economic crisis has made a tough sell to investors MUCH harder.

we've gone very far on strength of concept alone but I don't know how mouch longer we can hang in. please help!
