All good things come to those who wait. The god's finally sent me a technical angel and voila!, only a year and a half later I can share my peace offering with you .It was an impromptu "hit and run" as my angels were in a rush to the airport. The actual lyrics are "peace needs to be celebrated. If peace is is to be achieved, we've got to get peace elevated."

Aloha Josh, As I have maintained all along, I am not a singer. But even worse, I am not technical. I am going to try to send you my "Turn Peace Around" song. Let me know if I am successful. turn peace around And if I am not, which I suspect is the case if you could give me some pointers, I would appreciate it. It was a challenge for me to just get it recorded on garage band. The time to turn peace around is NOW!

I first encountered the upright peace sign in the Yucatan in 1995. I had been a 'runatic' for much of the 80s. The peace sign is a prime example of how easily a powerful symbol can be perverted though ignorance.

You can go to the site at www.turnpeacearound.org to read more about our motivations behind launching this. You can also buy t-shirts and buttons if you like.

What we'd really like is for you to take a moment and pose, arms upstretched at about 10 and 2 to form a human turnpeacearound sign. It feels good, try it. Then take a picture and upload it. You'll see more on the site.

Why the upside down peace symbol?

We believe that the peace symbol should have the “arms” up. In ancient runes arms are raised up to receive. They are a symbol of life. When they are dropped down, they are a symbol of death. Until now, we’ve had a symbol for “the death of man and the unborn child.”

The original peace symbol was designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom in Great Britain for the campaign for nuclear disarmament. In the 60’s it made its way to the U.S. and around the world. Many of us adopted it without knowing much about it.

After Holtom designed his symbol, he wrote to a friend, “I was in despair. Deep despair. I drew myself: the representative of an individual in despair, with hands palm outstretched outwards and downwards in the manner of Goya’s peasant before the firing squad. I formalised the drawing into a line and put a circle round it.” The original sketches show a symbol that stood for “the death of man and the unborn child”.

How inspiring is that for peace? It’s time for a higher vibration. It’s time to TurnPeaceAround. You can start to TurnPeaceAround right here.

Symbols are powerful. So, be the symbol. Raise your arms up and you are surrounded by the circle of the earth.
