We've tried fighting for peace so many times the earth is heaving with the weight of the blood spilt in its name, crusted with peace stains, can we ever overcome something by feeding it? Can we ever create a new world except by being it? There are so many situations in the world right now that seem impossible, where the only thing holding people upright is the weight of their weapons or hate. It seems to me that just as neo-liberalism follows the doctrine of being the change that it wants to see in the world, by turning governments into daisy-chained corporations, so wemust be the change by holding up songs and laughter in the faces of mushroom clouds, show people not only how a new world is possible, but it's beautiful, it's fun, it's heartbreakingly tender and young, a new world isn't a place, it's a journey.
Have a look at 'say yes' by Andrea Gibson, "when two violins are placed in a room, if a chord on one violin is struck the other vioin will sound that note, if this is your definition of hope this one is for you"
