CONDEMN the Israeli Attacks on Gaza and west bank

Israel is using a disproportionate force against Gazan civilians. After living under an Israeli siege for 18 months that deprived Gazans of basic necessities, Hamas fired homemade missiles and Israel responds by MASS PUNISHING Palestinians with F-16 raids. So far roughly 1400 Palestinians were brutaly murdered in 24 days, including 417 children & 108 women, 5340 injured.... whereas only 4 Israelis have died.

Palestinian kida can`t live normaly...For what? What it takes to live as all the world kids ?
I think they can`t because isreal want bigger place for his crime
Because they don`t leave thier country
Because they choosed honor
Because isreal wants allways to take from palestinians and never give them any thing.

Israel has done everything in its power to earn such a violent, disrespectful reputation worldwide. Right now, many Israelis are fighting back, side by side with other Palestinians who have nothing to do with any political party, which many visibly criticize. Now other Israelis have no real excuse to dismiss them, but most still ignore and abuse anyone who dares to speak out against the violence.
For decades Israeli PR has been trying to sell everyone and all the people around the world the idea that Israel has higher moral standards, that they’re fighting merely for their existence, that they’re the only “democracy” in the region when none are factually true.

Eye`s see whats going on on gaza and west bank for 60 years,
Ear`s hear the screem of the babies , womens and others
While the world looked elsewhere another week of DEATH ,SUFFERING AND MISERY

Davica, you are so right! Thank you for making things so clear! I hope Gabby will read this and soak it into his subconscious to the extent that he will hear these words in his dreams. Maybe, just maybe he will see the light!
Roro, David, Tatiana:

Everyone here is talking to the Walls. You say it is the Zionists, not the Jews....

Gabby, and i other people here are Zionists- and you seem to be defining for us what this means..

Throughout the history of modern Zionism there are reasons to critique that movement... but the Zionist endeavor was never dedicated to the horrific "values" you claim.

Territorial compromise and pragmatism were part of the Zionist agenda including the religious Zionists (who sadly have been moving more and more intro a less constructive mode since 1967.)

Zionism's desire was to purchase lands and get international recognition to create homeland for jews in Palestine. The Zionists agreed to Partition the land into two states- one Jewish and one Arab.

Demonizing this effort..constantly talking about ethnic cleansing, etc etc. only makes it harder to accept the possibility of dialogue between the State of Israel and it neighbors. It seems (even if this is NOT your attempt, to accept Hamas type of rejection of the very existence of the State of Israel.

It is time to move on from the rhetoric and talk about real problems...There are enough of them.
What do you expect, myrom? If Tatiana and Roro are the teachers here, what do you expect?

Tatoana writes: I as well do not blame the civilian population of Israel. It is the Zionists, period. Extreme elements that care completely for dominance. How can you confront such ignorance?

Then you get Roro: The IDF acts and behaves like the most barbaric terrorist organization I have ever heard of or seen. I prefer to call the IDF - modern day Nazi's which a huge dose of Spartan warrior mentality. This hatred by the Israeli government that is being programed into the children of Israel is surely the most dispicable thing a government could ever do.

Have you ever seen books being taugh by the Hamas? or your dear husband never mentions them. Have you ever seen the venom and poisoned they are filled with? Or you conveniently can't read Arabic?
You know alex...
some (only some) of the demonic images that they put in front of us
scare me..because at times i am afraid that we may become similar to them in some way..

It is a fear that is important to feel..I do not know if enough israeli's are wary of what this ongoing struggle can do to us.

i am thankful that Israel at least claimss it values are different
I am happy that issues of morality and limits are present in the media
i hear soldiers talking about it, I hear it in the voices of those who have lost children (civilian and armed forces)
It is on our agenda all the time..

so, even when we least we continue to feel that we are obligated to these values.
It is important to constantley sharpen the senses to these values..
The cry of Dr. Abu A-Aish penetrates the bone of Israeli's- even those who believe that the IDF had no choice but to enter Gaza and even those who feel that the cease fire came too early.

The empty rhetoric of people who only spout propagandist slogans only blunts our senses and theirs.
I think the IDF is too far brainwahed into hatred right now. The military leaders should retrain these young soldiers to be humain and still be strong defenders.
Sweet Alex, As I have said time and time again, you imprison people behind walls, deprive them of civil human rights, and expect a good result and those who think this way are inept. Think about this.
60 years....................
What I said about the IDF is true like it or not...

No problem...
The now is what interests us, isn't it.

i have come to believe (unlike many of my Israeli copatriots) that many people have sincere misconceptions about Israel, its history and its attempt (not as successful as it should be) to create a democratic state that is also the state where Jews find national fulfillment through its language and culture.

So, I do not believe that you are coming from a place of hate, and hopefully also do not reject Israels right to exist.

Beyond the issue of Occupation (rights of Palestinians who came under Israeli control in 1967) we have challenges to face within the pre 1967 borders where there is a large percentage of minority population.

It is not enough to give minorities (Moslem, Druze, Christian,) voting rights as citizens, free access to Universities, etc.. as is the case,

We must do much more, including, i believe, recognizing and aiding the development of their ethnic culture. The present Minisiter of Culture is Arab and has moved more budget in this direction.

There must be more job opportunity, developing programs particularly suited to cultural needs (as is necessary for Jewish Ultra Orthodox as well).

Also laws against discrimination in housing and employment must be upheld!

It is important to create a sense of belonging, developing a common civil commitment to the betterment of all. And yet, both sides are interested in preserving sensitivity to their ethnic and national identities (This effects education policies, desire by some for separate but equal education, etc.)
This means building mutual trust.

It means both sides freeing themselves from past burdens and prejudice.

There have been, for example, attempts to create a form of national service for Arabs (who are not bound to serve in the Israeli Army). This service would call for Israel Arabs to work in their communities, in Hospitals, in day care centers, schools, etc. Participants would help the services of their communities and be able to get government financial benefits that people doing Army or national service get.

Some Israeli Arabs think this is marvelous..other think it is a sham and are not willing to cooperate with the State. Arab Parliament members usually seem to tow the hard line, rather than find common paths to the future.

Israeli must take more interest in what is happening in the Arab sector. Very few Jews watch the television programming that is geared to Israeli Arabs .(All TV channels are required to air a certain percentage of TV shows in Arabic, many with Hebrew subtitles). Important local issues are discussed freely on these shows.

Apparently really making peace takes much more than just being against war.

In the meantime, I do hope your health improves..and i appreciate your desire to chime even when you are preoccupied.

best wishes
Hey, Myron, if the United States can do it, so can Israel... The U.S. is far from perfect but, we certainly do have a diverse population living together in peace.
Tatiana, I hope you feel better and that your are in good health! Take care of yourself. We need you in this world!
I never demonized an effort for a homeland. I never did that. I revealed true attrocities that are happening as if they are nothing to the world. I am not speaking about rhetoric but daily brutal actions. These actions have got to end before peace can begin. It feels and smells like Nazi mentality the more I learn of the daily human rights violations against the Palestinian people. Do, you know how afraid I am that my family in Palestine will not be allowed to have running water enough to survive this summer due to the dry winter this year? Can you imagine that? I am sure the settelments inside the west bank will get plenty of water no matter what.
