Does iPeace have a future after July 2010?

The iPeace network now works and relies on the NING platform. Until now, basic services were free and advanced services were not. David Califa established iPeace and used to pay directly for some NING services. We are all grateful to David for that.

Recently, NING has decided to charge for all its services. There is more information here: http://about.ning.com/announcement

The options NING is offering are at: http://about.ning.com/announcement/plans.php. Because iPeace has more than 150 members, the only viable options for maintaining iPeace at NING are:

NING PLUS which costs $19.95/month or $199.95/year, or
NING PRO which costs $49.95/month or $499.95/year.

It is now up to the current active members of iPeace to determine NOW whether and how the iPeace network and its community are maintained.

Maybe even some of the burnt lunch or dinner you always writing about too, I even do
dishes..but no ironing..lol

I know, I got what yu meant dear....but we need every laugh we can get...even if we have to look for them...in the dish basin!

Yes Leah, thank you for coming out and telling it as it is and making it clear thar there are NO ADMINISTRATORS, NO BOARD MEMBERS AND ONLY A NETWORK CREATOR.

As you just mentioned, some of these issues are exactly the reason WHY people are discussing things here, and the points that have already been agreed on, in principle, have been put forth on the new thread on this forum, so that everyone can see, and so that David can see what points and issues the members are raising. Now all that remains is for things to be acted upon.

No network, members, and no one person are perfect, far from it. So we are all moving on as best we can with the hand we have been dealt. I have complaints too, but I don't expect every single thing I have a problem with is going to be sorted out in my favour.

As far as transparency goes, it implies openness, communication, and accountability. It does not mean the people have to produce affidavits and the specifics of their personal banking details online - this is disproportionate and unnecessary as I see it, for iPeace at the moment - and that's just my viewpoint - I'm only a member like anyone else here.

If there is MORE openness between the Network Creator, and members, about basic financial information, we will be more than halfway there to having a reasonable level of transparency. David has already posted some details of donations. I have no problem with my name being posted here showing I donated a small amount. However, I don't see how it can be productive to expect anyone to produce detailed information on every aspect of donors and their financial contribitions - there is always a balance to be struck - transparency does not mean we distrust everything until we know every little detail. The level of transparency has to be proportionate to the type of organisation it is being applied to - in this case, iPeace isn't a transnational million dollar fundraising operation..

Sure, there are a lot of issues and finger pointing and distrust going on, and I share those feelings, but that is not going to get us anywhere. I would like to hear more from David, and am not happy with the lack of communication, but then we would all like to hear more from him - everyone is in the same boat here!

Hopefully this can all move on in a positive way and David can see the reasonable suggestions some people have made and will act on them. That is what I would like to see. So let's all keep positive.
