IF DR. KING WERE PRESIDENT

If Dr. King were president,
Our country wouldn't be at war.
Our troops wouldn't be in Iraq,
And for what are they fighting for?

If Dr. King were president,
There would be no homeless on the street.
He'd invite them all to the White House,
And feed them something to eat.

If Dr. King were president,
The U.S. budget would be well spent.
Americans would have health care.
Instead of wondering where the money went

If Dr. King were president,
His dream would be more than a vision.
The murder rates would be down,
And in schools, there would be religion!

If Dr King were president,
He'd teach love for everyone!
He'd lead us all in peace parades,
Singing, "WE SHALL OVERCOME!"
