For years now we have watched countries go to war. And allowed our leaders to send us to these wars. It stops our evolution and always will. The thought that not just our leaders, but a lot of people are still to infantile and agressive for there to be peace in the world always crosses my mind. I will give an example in the form of youtube. An online community that is meant to be a mixing pot of people and common ground on videos that you can talk to like minded people....Well it would be nice if that's what it was. I think youtube breeds some very horrible people and thoughts. I left a comment about my favourite writier. It was one of his talks and I said I enjoyed his books. I got three emails from a man saying he read the book too, he didn't agree with it a lot. That's fine. Then he went on to borderline racism about Muslims and Arabs. Then he told me it would be the kind of book he would expect Bin Ladens favourite journalist to write. Because Mr Fisk who wrote the book had sevral interviews with Osama Bin Laden. Then the next mail was full of videos about the dangers of Islam. What was laughable was that they had people like Rudi Gulliani being interviewed about "the dagers of islam." I'm not religious and I don't understand Islam but, I'm almost positive Mr Gulianni understands Islam as much as me.

If hiding behind a computer screen brings out peoples true colours and youtube is anything to go by then I'm afraid for this world. The level of social belligerence is scary. I saw a video of a group of soldiers, (I don't know from what country) throwing a flashbang grenade at an Iraqi man walking his sheep as they drove by him. Anyone who doesn't know, flashbang grenades are very bright and loud grenades that are made to disorientate enemies and give soldiers a couple of seconds on the enemy. All the comments were people laughing and saying how funny it was. And i came off as the bad guy for asking how would they feel if I came to their country and did that to their granfather or father ? Then they said "im sure that haji was fine" this term haji, is actually the seventh tier of islam (look at that, i knew something. in your face Gulianni) and means wise man, so when people try to insult an Iraqi by calling him a haji, that would be like saying to somebody on the street of London or New York "you're a genius" clever, but not really. Anyway, sorry about the rant folks. But my overall question is do you think we are still to infantile and agressive as a civlisation to have peace on Earth ?
