Take a look at the hard work you have been applying to all your long-term goals as well as your temptation to be instantly gratified. When you look honestly, what is revealed is the knowledge that many areas of your life are affected by the power and energy of both forces – your long-term goals and the need for instant gratification

Have ever wondered or questioned why some long-term goals are so difficult to commit to and so easily disrupted by things you have sought for momentary pleasure? Why is it so difficult to commit and discipline yourself to new routines that are healthful and beneficial? There are a lot of ‘whys’ in your life and it is up to you to explore their answers and to come up with solutions that are you willing to stick to.

Your need to be instantly gratified is connected deeply with your emotions where they override your logic and reasoning. It is one of the major causes to sudden impulses to buy things and to do things for instant gratification instead of working on your long-term goals that you have envisioned. In order for your long-term goals to be successfully reached you must be able to commit to each step and apply determined discipline into your rationale. It is possible to become attached to the outcome, but it’s not the same as the emotional impulse that has you looking for instant gratification.

There is a certain kind of satisfaction met that comes from your continuous efforts and pursuit of reaching your long-term goals. Any time you have given consistent commitment and determination towards any goal, even if reaching success takes a long time leaves you with a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction – this is where you make your dreams become a reality.

Your sensible rationale demands that any truly important achievements requires from you the appropriate amount of time and effort for those achievements or goals to be reached. There is nothing instantaneous about long-term goals – they are the fruit of your efforts. If you give little effort, you will be rewarded by a small outcome, yet if you give a lot of effort, your outcome will be that much greater. It is important to understand and to remember that any long-term goal that is important to you, you will do apply all effort consistently no matter how long it will take to achieve your envisioned outcomes.  We know and understand that some goals seem to take forever and you wish there was a magic wand that could instantly have you jump through any challenges that have developed. Your patience, perseverance and faith in your efforts will bring you to your goal and you will feel gratified and satisfied with what you have accomplished.

Is it possible for you to reach your long-term goals and to make your dreams a reality that would bring a deep feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction and to have days where you allow yourself meet your need to be instantly gratified? Of course this is possible, but it requires your ability to know how to manage your time so that all is still balanced so you don’t end up deserting your long-term goals for something that is quick and instantaneous, but not necessarily long-lasting. There are ways that can allow you to remain committed to your goals, yet be able to allow yourself to be instantly gratified without your life and commitments becoming imbalanced.

One way to help you stay on track with your long-term goals and still allow yourself some instant gratification time is to create a reward system for what you have achieved so far. Create target points to reach for each step and give yourself an appropriate sized reward for reaching that target. Give yourself something to look forward to while you are plugging away with pure effort, determination and discipline on your long-term goals and with the seriousness of life’s challenges.

When you reach certain milestones in your long-term goals, give yourself a little celebration for reaching those milestones. Identify that some of these milestones were hard to reach yet you persevered with your commitment and you succeeded to another step in your long-term goal. How you choose to celebrate could be anything from stepping back from thinking about your goals, to allowing yourself to become engrossed into your favourite television show, treating yourself to something sweet, the choices are yours to make and we know you will make the right choice each time.

Don’t forget to give yourself approval each day and to acknowledge the good that you are doing. Self-acknowledgement is one of the greatest ways to feed your need to be instantly gratified. We know you tend to look to others for approval and acceptance, but it is far more empowering to discover that you approve, accept and acknowledge who you are, the efforts you have applied and of the goals you are working so hard to accomplish. Take the amount of time needed that will allow you to commend yourself for all that you have accomplished thus far. When you withhold self-approval, it can easily create a need in you to seek this gratification from other sources, and not just from other people but from food and other activities that are not healthful or beneficial.

With planning from you, you can still maintain your long-term goals and still allow yourself time to feed your hunger to be instantly gratified while maintaining a healthy balanced lifestyle. If at all any of the choices you have come to for instant gratification has created an imbalance in your life, then it is up to you find out what the culprit was and then take the necessary steps to bring your life back into balance that is fruitful, productive and happy.

Before we end our transmission for today, we ask you to think of all the ways you look for to be instantly gratified and determine if any of your instant gratifications have ever prevented you from reaching your long-term goals. There is a lot to learn of yourself and you have your entire lifetime to unravel each and every part. Be brave and enthusiastic – don’t allow fears or disappointments to hinder where your heart is taking you on this incredible journey of enlightenment and finding your true self. As you step through each goal and you give yourself moments to be distracted from time-to-time, remember who you are… you are a giver from the heart and wherever you go so does the love the shines through you.

And so it is…
