Opportunity Lost For World Peace!

A rare chance to advance the cause for peace around the world was lost at The UN Conference On Racism as about 40 diplomats from around the world walked out on a speech given by Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Considering the fact that clouds of war will hang over our planet which will surely contain nuclear rain if we don't make peace, we can not afford to have people representing our global family who choose to walk out and give up, rather than engage in healthy debate and dialog! If the Iranian President made statements that were not true or that were offensive to other nations, what the diplomats who walked out should have done was engage in corrective dialog! No nation is perfect and we all have faults. We must proceed in the future with strength, wisdom, firmness and compassion for others.

Walking out and giving up is a sign to the rest of the world that we don't have the answers and we have no hope! When this happens, there is no recourse left for the global community but terror, war, and destruction resulting in enormous loss of life!

We deserve better! Our Children deserve better! Future generations deserve better!

Walking out is not always giving up.
In this sense, walking out was like saying - what you are saying and the way you are thinking are unacceptable and will not be tolerated by us.
Sometimes you have to draw the line. At least this is what I think.

Yes you are right in a sense but when world leaders , who by the way make decisions as to whether or not we make terror against our brothers and sisters in other countries walk out rather than debate and discuss the issues we are saying its our way or the highway!! Either you're with us or you're against us...We therefore declare war on you"

Gabby we who claim to be peace makers must show compassion for our brothers and sisters around the world who have not reached the level of awareness that we have. To walk out on our brother from Iran is the worst thing we can do..Its like saying, "Sorry Mr. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that you don't understand like we do. Your religion is not like ours, you speak of hate Israel..So you are a bad man and all your people are bad to. So we walk out on you and your people..We will bomb and kill your people as well if you don't stop your ways!

Gabby, this is not showing compassion and love for those who just don't understand. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is just reaching out to the world saying,"I don't understand, please show compassion to us and we will be your brothers to. We don't want war but when you walk out on us, you show that you don't understand either!"

Let us all come together as one, in true global peace!
