In Hollywood once, I went to visit my father but he was busy so he sent me to lunch with his close friend called Bo. We took a big vase of change with us, to pay for the lunch and propped it on the table. We talked (Bo was a wise and creative man) He said that every year he did something he was afraid of. That was interesting to hear, and so I asked, "What did you do THIS year?" "A tatoo", he replied. And I asked him "Where?" He said, "I'm not going to tell you that!"
I always liked the part of doing thing that one is afraid of doing. It stayed with me my whole life.
