I made a reluctant entrance into the world of wedding photography. Toronto's market is fiercely competitive and dominated by – more or less – a formulaic approach. It has the photographer playing a very active role throughout the day, which involves directing the bride, groom, and prom dresses 2015 party into posing in a multitude of ways across a variety of settings, prompting guests for photos, and in general, having a significant presence. In my personal photography, I've always enjoyed documenting real moments as they occurred, so playing the role of an active participant didn't appeal to me. Then I discovered the work of Jeff Ascough and other documentary prom dresses on sale photographers, and my outlook took a 180° turn.

Realizing that prom dresses photography didn't have to follow formulaic trends and that there was a niche of people that sought the hands-off approach inspired me to push ahead. It also allowed me to differentiate my style in Toronto's bustling market. To this day, I remain a stickler to the purist approach of documentary wedding photography and highly discourage posing for the camera. The reason for this is quite simple: I want couples to enjoy the experience of their wedding day as it would naturally unfold had a wedding photographer not been there. The bride, groom, and guests become free to express their real emotions, not the ones the photographer asks of them, and the experience becomes more pleasant and authentic for everyone involved.
