Hi,

I think the latest broadcast message about how iPeace invitation rounds turned into Spam arrests should be a deep warning sign, where we need to step back, breathe out, breathe in, and let intuition flow.

With the heavy promotional frenzy of this community, it carries a risk to go the other way around - that it actually only becomes a head-count focus.

Remember that signing up and participating is two things. Commitment in terms of active participation is usually a factor 1:100, meaning, the active participants are 1% of the signed up users. Don't fool ourselves!

So - for the small community who actually want PRACTICAL solutions towards PEACE, not just the Gandhi-Lennon-MLK quotation fluff (honour to my spirtual step-farthers, as true inspiration sources they can be!!! but...), and digest the heavily complex issues that surrounds this issue, I would encourage everyone to actually BLOG about PEACE, and embed the message on iPeace in the posting (even just in a PS!) - and reach a Qualitative audience, not just a Quantitative. Otherwise, it will only lead to a pledge Avaaz style on shaking hands for Tibet, and not go to the deep root causes beyond that, in the need for a sphere on the net to see things from a different angle, with new insights, sharing experiences you never could think of, and find the innovative and creative edge, where the Security Council in the UN turns out to be a big fat diplomatic joke, when we have been out there to create peace - for REAL!

So - define yourself - are you a Peace-Blogger?

Yes, I am.

And I blog away about a bridge towards lasting peace in our time. Sustainopreneurship.

What's your topic?

Peace,
Anders

PS. Practice of Peace - recommended! DS.

Yes, I am here in the Larry Brilliant spirit Early Detection - Early Response ;).

His thoughts on warning systems and act accordingly before it goes astray is SURE to be implemented on a global scale also related to world conflict!

Every world war (two, with the African World War still going on in Kongo at large making it three), has begun local, as every effort with peace.

It begins with you. With me. With us. Where "us" has the potential to be embrace the whole family of Humanity.

ITMT (in the mean time - ....) let's enjoy Larry Brilliant TED Wish and TED Reality;

If smallpox got eradicated through systemic efforts, so can War.

Huh?

What is it good for?

Absolutely - NOTHING!

I know what peace is about I read and saw. if you looked at percentage of ppl making discussion only one or two has been used by others who go on to them.

I made a discussion about the Cuban Missiles Crisis I have seen no one so far this morning make any kind of option to come one it..if you want to see it I be gladly read ur opinion what could of been word war three ...
Where is your blog? I'm new to this site and haven't quite figured it out yet. If you'd provide a link to the blog, it would help.

Yes, I am a peace blogger. I cover a variety of topics and subjects. Sometimes I post things that seem angry, but try to point to a solution to get at the root of a cause. Most of my blogging is done on my Multiply site: http://spaceeagle.multiply.com/

I use that as sort of my "home base" and try to come up with ideas for my other sites and projects.

My name is Cal Jennings. My Cherokee name is Space Eagle. I'm a musician/singer/songwriter and am a member of ASCAP, Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute, Musicians and Fine Artists for World Peace, and am involved with many facets of promoting peace, including talking with politicians, Care2 projects, and whatever else that comes along in which I feel I have something to say or to which I can contribute. I use Freecycle to help keep things out of landfills and to acquire things that are offered that I need.

There is a peaceful solution. It’s called a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can win it.
So let’s take back America.

It’s a dream, so believe it.
Now get ready to receive it.
And let’s take back America.

And when the war is over and we’ve won it
let’s remember how we done it so we don’t have to do it again.

There is a peaceful solution. It’s called a peace revolution.
Now let’s take back America.
There’s a war and we’re in it, but I know we can win it.
Now let’s take back America.

There was a peace resolution
and a peaceful revolution
and the peaceful solution saved America

There must be a balance in everything we do. A broadcast message that has little meaning or import to many of the recipients is thoughtless and certainly not a Peaceful thing to do. When I reach inside for something of meaning that I want to share, I write... usually poetry. I don't really see a place to share this with others that might have the same interests. I've posted some of my writing on my own site here and had very little response. Here's a simple one. Any idea how this or others could be used to advance the cause of peace?

Through millions of years as tribal nations
where violence was used for domination,
genetic memory played a hand
deep inside the minds of man.

from days when aggression was the test
for those who would rule the rest,
when man was not the food chain top,
and no one considered killing should stop.

in that age with no written history
man evolved survival chemistry.
aggressive behaviors start to show
when adrenalin starts to flow.

Now society has taken a turn
but violence seems undeterred.
trying to learn to control that gene
causes many a person to scream.

we hear the terminology of war
'civilian casualties,' and more.
action or not we must decide
when we hear of a 'genocide.'

does our morality have to yield
when we hear of a 'killing field?'
'collateral damage' make us distraught?
or do we just deny our thoughts?

action will be necessary
if we are to really bury
the dictator, and the power monger
and make the will for peace stronger.

can nonviolent action really work?
or from most others just draw a smirk?
uniting the efforts of civilians
will change the world for millions

look only within your own skin
to find the best place to begin
the world would be much less mean
if everyone could suppress that gene
