How Can we at Ipeace move the US towards peace?

This is a large group of people interested in peace. What can we do together to help the United States of America move towards peace. I say we here as a citizen who pays taxes regularly. Lets brainstorm and see what we can do.

Rather naively I thought some while ago that social networks are about social change. When finally admitted that they are mostly about recreational communication, mutual back-patting and " you are wonderful" messages.

After that depressing relisation I sought out networks the name of which indicated social concerns, like Healing Humanity and this one.

I assumed the "i" stood for "international" but now think it stands for little "me... me... me...".

No matter, though. Among 21,526 members --- and growing --- there must be enough variety of preferences including people with the realisation that Peace is not going to be achieved just wishing for it.
There are also currently 583 groups. Out of this variety it should be possible to grow a Peace Activism arm for iPeace. But such a project needs a kind of promotion skill possessed by professional people.
May be the designers and managers of iPeace could be approached.

Hello All,
Yes Al I like you am disgusted with Barack's bullshit on all fronts. I had great hopes for him by listening to what he said during the campaign, I guess we should remember that he is a lawyer of high degree.
Thanks for your comment you can see this topic is of high interest to this social group.
Peace,
George

I also agree with Maria. The reason I joined eBay was that I thought We would be a real Peaceful force for change and that is why I voted for Obama, but unfortunately these two have disillusioned Me.
I guess iPeace is just going to be a Social network. Well, it's better than Facebook & Myspace in My eyes and there are some Wonderful Peaceful Fellow Human Beings here and I Thank iPeace for showing Me that. Namaste,Al

Maria makes the point that the whole world needs to move towards peace.
The problem seems to be that if America does not make a step in the right direction the rest of the world cannot move a foot. What is worse, moving in the wrong direction---like unleashing a permanent "war on terror"---drags the rest of the world with it.
