Big question mark on Nobel prize for peace : Why Gandhi was ignored ?

Mohandas Gandhi (1869-1948) has become the strongest symbol of non-violence in the 20th century. It is widely held – in retrospect – that the Indian national leader should have been the very man to be selected for the Nobel Peace Prize. He was nominated several times, but was never awarded the prize. Why?
These questions have been asked frequently: Was the horizon of the Norwegian Nobel Committee too narrow? Were the committee members unable to appreciate the struggle for freedom among non-European peoples?" Or were the Norwegian committee members perhaps afraid to make a prize award which might be detrimental to the relationship between their own country and Great Britain?

Gandhi was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and, finally, a few days before he was murdered in January 1948. The omission has been publicly regretted by later members of the Nobel Committee; when the Dalai Lama was awarded the Peace Prize in 1989, the chairman of the committee said that this was "in part a tribute to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi". However, the committee has never commented on the speculations as to why Gandhi was not awarded the prize, and until recently the sources which might shed some light on the matter were unavailable.

Gandhian Ideologist and Philosopher Naresh Kadyan, animal rights activist comes forward to raised this issue with the consultation of former Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (Govt. of India) Shri Laxmidas, Chairman, National Khadi and Village Industries Board's Employees Federation (An apex body of all State KVIB's Employees Unions).

i see you still give importance to the Nobel Price. Mahatma Gandhi has much wider and lasting recognition by the many, many people who are inspired by his ideas and example.

Dear Kadyan Sahib,
I have shown all your emails to Mrs Tara Gandhi Bhttacharjee. Her reply is as follows [To talk about peace prize for Gandhi is like showing a candle to the sun. I think instead of struggling for peace prize for Gandhi, it will be best if we find peace in our own consciousness. Achieving peace and reaching universal harmony need a conscious and constant movement."]

Bujha Singh, PS to Tara Gandhi, Vice Chairperson to Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Gandhi Darshan, New Delhi-110002.

Gandhi jee is beyond all the prizes whether it is Bharat Ratna or Noble prize….he needs not any recognition by biased noble committee…..he exposed the atrocity and cowardly acts of the western people and make them learn the lesson of non-violence…..which in
Fact, is very much have the relevance this time….what we have to do to spread his teachings among the world community so that this bloodshed could be eliminated from the world…rather we have to work towards this…of course, he should be bestowed upon this prize but it will not be justice to Gandhi if we ask for the prize by any means………!
